The Premier League has returned and talkSPORT is here to keep you updated with all the latest action.
Liverpool and Manchester City both took full advantage of Arsenal's 2-0 loss to Bournemouth after dramatic victories on Sunday.
First, City needed another late John Stones goal to come to their rescue as the champions came from behind to beat Wolves.
Liverpool then reclaimed top spot by battling to a 2-1 win over Chelsea in a tense affair where VAR played a big part for both sides.
The result has now piled the pressure on Arsenal, who will find themselves seven points behind Arne Slot's Reds if they fall to another defeat when the two meet at the Emirates next weekend.

Only Pep Guardiola (won first 10) has reached 10 wins in all competitions as a Premier League manager in fewer matches than Arne Slot (won 10 of first 11 with Liverpool).
Liverpool have won 10 of their 11 games across all competitions this season (L1); their most victories after that many matches in a campaign since 1990-91, under Kenny Dalglish (also 10).

Darwin Nunez is penalised for a shoulder barge that sends the striker, Arne Slot and his backroom staff apoplectic with rage.
Chelsea break quickly in the dying embers but their final attack comes to nothing and the tension finally eases at Anfield.
Liverpool leapfrog Manchester City and return to the top of the Premier League.
Disastrous for Arsenal as both of their title rivals take full advantage of their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Next up for both clubs in the Premier League?

Another let-off for the Reds, who seem to have lost some composure in stoppage-time as a precious three points creeps ever closer.
Pedro Neto floats over a deep teasing cross that Caoimhín Kelleher stays on his line for and hopes will bounce out.
But the Irish goalkeeper is almost embarrassed as Christopher Nkunku ghosts in unnoticed and at full stretch pokes into the side-netting.

Was that the moment for the visitors?
Alexis Mac Allister fouls Cole Palmer and receives a yellow card but the Chelsea talisman dusts himself off to stand up the free-kick.
Renato Veiga gets the run on Ibrahima Konate and meets the delivery but his header sails over the crossbar.
Enzo Maresca's reaction suggests the Portuguese should have done a lot better!

Could be famous last words but if there was ever a 'clear and obvious' difference between Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot it's in this game.
Liverpool were so often chaotic, breathless and constantly pushing under the old regime.
Slot's tactical plan has been to take the sting completely out of Chelsea's attack since retaking the lead.
Lots of fouls, delays on restarts and sensible retention of possession and crucially, little to no chances for either side!
SEVEN minutes for the Reds to hold on as Slot gees up the crowd!

Another break in play will suit the home side as Malo Gusto requires treatment but fortunately for the visitors will not be forced off.
Chelsea have around ten minutes to find another equaliser and you wouldn't back against Cole Palmer being the man to score it.
Palmer has had twice as many shots as any other player on the pitch during this match (4) - but none that have troubled Anfield!
But it only takes a moment to change a game!

Ibrahima Konate becomes the latest to enter the book as he clatters into Christopher Nkunku.
Robert Sanchez looked to have released the Chelsea attacker but he's wiped out by his French compatriot to stop him streaking away.
Liverpool utilises the latest stop in play with a double change as two Scousers are withdrawn to a standing ovation.
Reds vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold and goalscorer Curtis Jones both make way for Alexis Mac Allister and Joe Gomez.

Darwin Nunez and Benoit Badiashile continue their ongoing battle as the Frenchman this time is penalised for a shove in the back.
Before Liverpool have a chance to take the free-kick from the right-hand touchline Chelsea make a change.
Noni Madueke, who started the game so brightly but has faded, is replaced by Christopher Nkunku.
Trent Alexander-Arnold gets us back underway with a delivery from the byline but it's well cleared by the visitors.
Luis Diaz is then fouled by Renato Veiga who is the latest to be shown a yellow card.
Liverpool content at 2-1 as things stand.
To that point, Alexis Mac Allister is being readied!

Dominik Szoboszlai is cheap in possession which invites Pedro Neto to streak threatingly through the middle before taking a shot.
However, the winger drags his effort wide of the far post.
It comes just minutes after Chelsea worked the ball to Cole Palmer inside the box whose shot was blocked.
The Blues, who are winless in their past nine meetings with Liverpool which includes three cup finals, are not out of this yet!

The Uruguayan then leaves one on the Chelsea defender from the restart and his protests see him cautioned.

What a seven days for Curtis Jones!
Having been called up to the England senior squad over the international break, the midfielder didn't travel to Finland for the Three Lions' 3-1 win in Helsinki.
The reason is that the Scouser and his partner welcomed their first child last Sunday – Giselle Delilah Jones.
His first game since and he's scored his first Premier League goal of 2024 with a dedicated celebration for his new daughter!

Those changes seem to have reignited the visitors who were rocked by falling behind so quickly after drawing level.
A deep cross is met by Noni Madueke on the volley but the angle is against him and it bounces into Caoimhín Kelleher's midriff.
Chelsea quickly reclaim the ball and Pedro Neto draws a foul from Ryan Gravenberch.
However Cole Palmer's free-kick is deflected behind by a corner by Trent Alexander-Arnold and the corner comes to nothing.
Darwin Nunez affords Liverpool some breathing space by being fouled on the edge of his own box and now Arne Slot turns to his bench.
Cody Gakpo's number is up - on comes Luis Diaz!

No messing from Enzo Maresca as his captain Reece James is withdrawn as part of a triple change.
Renato Veiga, Enzo Fernandez, and Benoit Badiashile all come on for Tosin Adarabioyo, as well as the recently returned James and Romeo Lavia.
A big boost for Chelsea going forwards is that their skipper was able to play over 50 minutes without any further fitness issues.

WHAT A RESPONSE FROM THE REDS!
Jones, who has won both of their penalties today whether eventually taken or not, has now popped up with a goal of his own.
Chelsea attempt to play a high defensive line on the edge of their box which does play Darwin Nunez offside.
But Jones makes a clever run from deep that is unchecked as Mohamed Salah cuts inside Malo Gusto and swings over a cross.
The England midfielder brings the ball down, and having failed to get his shot away in the chaos that led to the overturned penalty, this time he prods it past Robert Sanchez into the goal.
Jones has struck his first Premier League goal since scoring against Newcastle United at Anfield on New Years Day earlier this year.
Salah has now both scored and assisted in 34 separate Premier League matches, with only Wayne Rooney doing so in more games in Premier League history (36).

THE GOAL IS GIVEN AND CHELSEA HAVE THEIR EQUALISER!
The visitors didn't have a shot on target in the first-half but they've just restored parity with their first of the restart!
It's a great run from Jackson, who is found by Moises Caicedo charging between Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
He shows uncharacteristic coolness to then slot past Caoimhín Kelleher into the bottom corner before the offside flag is raised.
However, replays show Konate's trailing leg has played him onside and the goal is awarded!
Jackson has now scored against 13 of the 18 teams he's faced in the Premier League after netting the equaliser at Anfield this afternoon.
Jackson has been directly involved in 13 goals in his last 13 appearances in the Premier League (nine goals, four assists), just one fewer than in his first 30 games for Chelsea in the competition (14 - 10 goals, four assists).

What a 45 minutes to break down at Anfield!
Chances galore at both ends and a tale of two penalties, one that was given and scored, and another that was given and overturned!
Mohamed Salah's successful spot-kick was his fifth goal against his former club Chelsea in the Premier League.
That is the joint-most by a player to have previously appeared for them in the competition, along with Kevin De Bruyne (5).
Chelsea meanwhile failed to record a shot on target in the first half vs Liverpool - the first time they've suffered that feat in a Premier League match since against Arsenal in April.
But that doesn't tell the full story - Nicolas Jackson has struck the woodwork, while Cole Palmer fluffed a late sitter.
Chelsea have had 18 touches in Liverpool's box in the first half, the most by a visiting team in a Premier League match at Anfield since Southampton in February 2020 (also 18).
Plenty of action to look forward to after the break!

Cole Palmer fires over!
How that could have turned the game on its head - from almost a second Liverpool penalty to a potential Chelsea equaliser.
Noni Madueke is too quick for Andy Robertson again and his second cut-back for Palmer is just as dangerous.
But the Premier League player of the month gets underneath his effort and steers it over the crossbar.
From the restart, Palmer does draw a foul from Dominik Szoboszlai - who is then shown a yellow card for booting the ball away.
The resulting free-kick comes to nothing and that should be that!

ANOTHER LIVERPOOL PENALTY!!
Again it's Curtis Jones who is taken out in the box - it's unbelievable!
Darwin Nunez slips through the midfielder who can't get the ball out from his feet to get a shot away, which is what deceives Sanchez.
The Chelsea goalkeeper makes a slight contact on the ball before colliding with Jones who goes over the top of him.
VAR will be having a look at this!

Now it's the visitors' turn to sweat over the fitness of their leading striker as Nicolas Jackson has dropped to the turf.
Worryingly for Chelsea fans, there wasn't any contact when the Senegealse made the signal for the medical team to come on.
Jackson seemingly landed funny during the taking of that shot that rattled the woodwork earlier.

Nicolas Jackson almost catches out Caoimhín Kelleher with a strike from the edge of the box that glances the outside of the bar.
Liverpool respond by almost doubling their lead as a free-flowing move sees Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo combine.
The latter finds Dominik Szoboszlai with a reverse pass on the opposite flank but his shot is a tame one into Robert Sanchez.

Mo Salah has now scored 162 Premier League goals to join Jermain Defoe in ninth spot on the competition's all-time scoring charts.
Salah has scored his 27th Premier League goal from the penalty spot with only five players recording more in Premier League history.
And even better news for Liverpool - the club have won their last 35 Premier League matches at Anfield when scoring first.
