Dominic Calvert-Lewin's representatives have reportedly contacted Newcastle United to see if they would be interested in a summer move for the striker.

DCL's deal at Everton expires in two months, and there are no talks over a new one, meaning as it stands, he would be a free agent.

Eddie Howe and the scouting team at St James' Park are known to be admirers of Calvert-Lewin and have long been linked with a move.

They even attempted a PSR-busting swap deal last year, but it fell through.

However, The Chronicle report the striker's agents have reached out to establish if the Magpies would be keen on the former Sheffield United man.

Callum Wilson looks likely to leave Tyneside this summer, so Calvert-Lewin could be a cheap backup for Alexander Isak.

The good news for Liverpool just keeps rolling in with Arne Slot providing an injury update ahead of facing West Ham.

The Dutchman revealed that he has Alisson Becker and Conor Bradley available.

Alisson missed the 3-2 defeat after failing a concussion check.

Meanwhile, Bradley contributed an assist off the bench last weekend, and he is fit to start.

This is a big opportunity for Bradley, given he is the natural successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

talkSPORT understands that Liverpool will not be making it a double contract announcement today.

There were rumours that Virgil van Dijk's two-year deal would be confirmed at midday, but that isn't the case.

The Dutchman has verbally agreed everything to extend his stay, but Reds fans will have to wait just a little bit longer.

We are sure the Mohamed Salah news will be enough anyway, and Van Dijk will be confirmed in due course.

Newcastle United assistant manager Jason Tindall provided a fitness update on Edde Howe and Anthony Gordon this morning.

Ahead of facing Manchester United at the weekend, Howe wasn't at the Toon's press conference due to illness.

However, Tindall expects him to be on the sidelines on Sunday.

Meanwhile, after returning from a three-match ban, Anthony Gordon hasn't played yet due to a hip injury suffered on international duty.

But Tindall believes he could be involved at the weekend.

On Howe, Tindall said: "He's been really poorly in the last couple of days but we've been in daily contact.

He was back out on grass for a session yesterday so we'll assess him today to see how he's responded to that then we'll have to make a late call on whether he's available for Sunday."

talkSPORT understands that Nottingham Forest have whacked a £100 million valuation on Morgan Gibbs-White to ward off any interest in the attacking midfielder.

Manchester City have identified Gibbs-White as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave the club this summer.

However, if City are to get the former Wolves man, they will need to spend roughly what they did to get Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

Forest are currently pushing to get Champions League football, and he has been a key part of that.

Nuno Espirito Santo gives Gibbs-White the freedom as a ten, and he is thriving at the City Ground.

Should Forest seal a place among Europe's elite, coupled with the price tag, it's hard to see him going anywhere.

talkSPORT understands that Manchester United have increased their scouting of Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

The 22-year-old is valued at £40 million by his club Parma, and it follows a string of error from Andre Onana.

Suzuki was born in the United States, but he is a Japanese international with 18 caps.

He only joined the Italian club in the summer for around £7 million, but he could be on his way to Old Trafford.

Onana has endured a tough week after being called out by Nemanja Matic, he went on to make two errors leading to goals during Man United's Europa League tie against Lyon last night.

The good news for Liverpool just keeps on coming this morning.

After Mohamed Salah signed a new two-year deal with the Reds, Alexis Mac Allister's dad has now claimed that he can't see his son leaving any time soon.

The Argentine midfielder has revealed in the past that he would like to play in Spain, but Liverpool fans can rest easy.

Speaking in Argentina, Mac Allister's dad said: "For now, I don't think so (leaving Liverpool).

Time will tell.

He lives in Manchester, and on the block where he lives is [Andy] Robertson, [Joe] Gomez, and four blocks away is Licha (Lisandro) Martinez.

"Alexis speaks English well, understands the rules of the game, and converses with people.

"I think it's been the best thing he's had, and that's why the adaptation was easier."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been discussing the new two-year deal for Mohamed Salah ahead of his side facing West Ham this weekend.

After months of speculation regarding the Egyptian's future, he has finally quashed all rumours by committing himself to Anfield for another two years.

He hasn't taken a pay cut on his wages, but the Reds are keeping one of the world's best forwards, and Arne Slot is delighted.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference about Salah, he said: "I am happy, of course.

It is a big compliment to Richard Hughes because Mo Salah, as a free agent, can go to any club he wants to."

Eddie Howe has been forced to withdraw from Newcastle's pre-match conference due to illness.

The Magpies boss was set to speak to the media on Friday to discuss Sunday's upcoming clash against Manchester United.

But the 47-year-old will be replaced by assistant boss Jason Tindall.

A statement read: "Due to illness, please note that Jason Tindall will take this morning's pre-match press conference as a replacement for Eddie Howe."

It remains unclear whether Howe will be in the dugout at St James' Park this weekend.

Mohamed Salah's new deal will see him bank £400,000-a-week at Liverpool, talkSPORT understands.

The 32-year-old has officially put pen to paper on a two-year contract at Anfield.

He had been set to depart Merseyside this summer with his deal to expire at the end of the season.

But his future lies at Liverpool, with talkSPORT understanding he remains on his previous salary.

His contract, which includes bonuses, keeps him as one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League alongside Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

Mohamed Salah has signed a new two-year deal at Liverpool to end any uncertainty over his future.

The Reds winger was set to become a free agent at the end of the season - leading to rumours over a move to Saudi Arabia.

Salah himself admitted he was 'more out than in' earlier in the campaign.

But he has since signed on the dotted line to give the Merseyside outfit a huge push as they close in on their second Premier League title.

The Egyptian has been the standout player in the top-flight this term - chipping in with 27 goals and 17 assists.

And he will be looking to mark his new deal by getting on the score sheet once again in Sunday's clash with Liverpool.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is expecting a very tense second leg in Germany next week.

Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Frankfurt tonight, meaning the quarter-final tie is still undecided.

"I can't ask any more of the lads," Postecoglou said.

If we repeat that performance we give ourselves a chance.

"I don't expect the second game to be to open, it'll be cagey affair and it'll come down to moments.

"The second leg is going to be tight for sure, it might even go to extra-time, we're going to need all the lads ready to go."
