Eddie Howe is confident Alexander Isak can handle the 'burden' of being Newcastle's star striker.
The 25-year-old Sweden forward netted 24 last season to justify the club-record £63million fee invested during the summer of 2022 to lure him from Real Sociedad.
He has found the going tougher this time around with injuries having taken their toll, and has just a single goal to his name so far this campaign.
But ahead of Sunday's testing Premier League trip to Chelsea, Magpies boss Howe has no doubt that he will rediscover his touch.
The head coach said: "He knows the burden of being the number nine - at Newcastle, you do carry an extra weight with that - but I think he's done that brilliantly since he's been here and we need to support him and give him chances.
"I think he had seven shots last week, so that was a good return and I'd back him if he's having seven shots every week that he's going to score a lot of goals for us."

Ruben Dias believes the sides at the bottom of the Premier League have shown Manchester City how tough it will be to defend their title this season.
The champions laboured to a 1-0 victory over winless Southampton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, a result that left the visitors at the foot of the table with just one point from nine games.
That came after John Stones scored an injury-time winner to see off dogged Wolves, who also had just one point at the time, at Molineux the previous weekend.
City defender Dias said: "I think you need nothing else to say about (how tough) the Premier League (is).
"I think it's the best example - Southampton and Wolves, one point each they had.
We could have scored many more, but sometimes it goes that way."

With 20 goals in the opening six matches of the weekend, a blockbuster weekend of Premier League football continues on Sunday.
Before that, Crystal Palace host Tottenham, Newcastle travel to Chelsea, and Manchester United visit West Ham at 2pm.
Arsenal are now five points adrift of the leaders ahead of Sunday's crunch clash with the Reds - and one talkSPORT pundit suggested they may need to win to remain in the title race...

Arsenal have been handed a double injury boost ahead of their crunch clash with Liverpool at the Emirates on Sunday.
Gunners fans have been sweating over who is available with the club at one point fearing five players could be absent.
William Saliba is suspended for the match with the Reds, while there have been doubts surrounding the fitness of Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori.
But in images that have circulated on social media, Saka and Timber have been spotted amongst the Arsenal squad at their team hotel.
And Gooners will be hoping that means the pair have won their fitness battle to start in north London.

After scoring a late equaliser for Everton against Fulham this evening in the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, Beto was close to tears as he left the pitch.
The striker is very much second choice under Sean Dyche, but he came up with a vital moment for his team, and after the game, he took part in an emotional interview.
He said: "It means too much for me because I work hard.
"Even if I don't play, I still work hard.
Every day, I want to improve, to be better.
"So, for me, this goal means too much, and to be able to help the team is emotional because these last few weeks have been really difficult for me.
"But God helped me, and here I am today having scored a goal.
"We didn't win but at least we took a point.
"The supporters support me every day since I arrived here.
"They always sing my name, so I am happy to help the team and the Toffees."

Incredibly, Everton have somehow claimed a point from this game!
Beto was the hero for the Toffees as he scored a late equaliser in stoppage time.
Fulham opened the scoring through Alex Iwobi, who scored on his return to Goodison Park, but the Cottagers will reflect on two points dropped.
Marco Silva's men were in total control and limited Everton to nothing.
However, Sean Dyche's teams never give up and they kept chucking the ball in the box, and eventually, it worked.

THEY'VE SNATCHED AN EQUALISER!
Iliman Ndiaye clips a cross to the back post.
Ashley Young is there, and he flashes the ball back into the box.
Beto is there to crash a header beyond Bernd Leno, and he looks to have stretched the Toffees' unbeaten record to five games.
It's a crushing goal to concede for Fulham, who have been the better team by miles.

Everton's bad evening goes from bad to worse with Dwight McNeil withdrawn through injury.
The English attacker has been a crucial part of the Toffees' XI since Sean Dyche took the job, but he is unable to continue.
The former Burnley man appears to be indicating it's an issue with his left knee.
Strangely, Jarrad Branthwaite is brought on in McNeil's place, which leads to more boos.
Michael Keane is now playing up front with Beto.

We have about 15 minutes left at Goodison Park, and the home crowd aren't enjoying this one.
Their side are laboured in possession and are just lobbing the ball up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and hoping for the best.
It's leading to a lot of boos and jeers, with each misplaced pass making it even worse.
The Cottagers are largely looking in control and will be hoping to see this one out.

HE'S DONE IT AGAINST HIS OLD TEAM!
Emile Smith Rowe drifts past about four players on the left.
He picks out Alex Iwobi around 30 yards from goal.
He drives into the box and whips a shot into the near post corner.
The Nigerian international refuses to celebrate as a mark of respect for his former club.

No changes for either side as the second half starts.
Let us hope for an improvement in quality from both sides.

That's the end of the first 45 minutes at Goodison Park, and it's all square.
The Toffees have had the ball in the back of the net but saw it ruled out because Dominic Calvert-Lewin was offside.
The Cottagers have had more than enough chances to have the lead but wasteful finishing has cost them.

Another big opportunity goes begging!
Adama Traore drives down the right and delivers an excellent cross to the far post.
It drops to Alex Iwobi, and on the volley, he skies an effort over the bar from about eight yards.
That could and should have been a goal on his Goodison Park return for Iwobi.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has the ball in the back of the net, but he's offside!
Ilman Ndiaye runs at Kenny Tete and plays a pass into the box.
Abdoulaye Doucoure plays it back to Idrissa Gana Gueye, and he unleashes an excellent strike that rattles the crossbar.
It comes back out to Calvert-Lewin, who converts, but he's just offside.

That should be 1-0 to Fulham!
Vitaliy Mykolenko gifts possession to Andreas Pereira on the edge of the box, and he slides a pass into the area for Adama Traore.
He rifles in a shot at the near post that Jordan Pickford beats away, but the Toffees fail to clear their lines.
It's clipped back into the box, and Emile Smith Rowe volleys over from six yards.
Big chances!

The visitors have been the better of the two sides so far, but bar that early Raul Jimenez chance, they've created nothing else.
Meanwhile, Everton have offered barely anything in attack.
However, we know how dangerous they can be from set pieces, and they've worked Bernd Leno from a free-kick.
Dwight McNeil floats a free-kick into the box.
James Tarkowski heads it back across goal for Abdoulaye Doucoure, and he heads straight at Leno.

Manchester United have confirmed that Antony won't be available to compete for them against West Ham tomorrow.
The Brazilian winger was stretchered off during the Red Devils' 1-1 draw with Fenerbahce in midweek.
The injury has now been revealed to be a sprained ankle, though the severity of it is yet to be confirmed.
The club hope it isn't a bad one, but the winger will need to undergo further tests.
But either way, he will play no part in east London tomorrow.

Raul Jimenez's revival this season has been a great story, and he's just warmed Jordan Pickford's gloves with a clever effort.
Kenny Tete breaks down the right and delivers a cross into the box.
Jimenez just nudges Michael Keane out of the way to create some space for himself.
He brings the ball down on his chest and cracks in a volley that Pickford does well to hold.

This is Everton's last home game before Remembrance Day, meaning we have a minute's silence to show respect to all those lose fought in various wars defending the UK.
It's beautifully observed by all inside Goodison Park.
And once that's done, the referee gets things underway.

Okay, you've had a chance to rest, now let's look at the evening kick-off
Everton take on Fulham at Goodison Park.
Unsurprisingly, the Toffees are unchanged from their 2-0 win over Ipswich last weekend.
But Fulham have made one enforced change.
Joachim Andersen was sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, so he's not involved.
Issa Diop comes into the XI for him.
Everton: Pickford, Young, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Doucoure, Gueye, Harrison, McNeil, Ndiaye, Calvert-Lewin
Subs: Virgina, Patterson, Mangala, Beto, O'Brien, Coleman, Lindstrom, Branthwaite, Armstrong
Fulham: Leno, Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson, Berge, Pereira, Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi, Jimenez

Well, if you thought the first half of those games was intense, they had nothing on the second halves because what on earth just happened.
Incredibly, the game with the least goals was at the Etihad as Manchester City beat Southampton 1-0 thanks to an Erling Haaland goal.
He should have more, while the Saints can take plenty of positives.
But the other three matches all had ridiculous late drama.
Brentford beat Ipswich 4-3 at the Gtech after Bryan Mbeumo scored in the 96th minute to deny ten-man Ipswich a point.
Aston Villa saw Bournemouth also score in the 96th minute to take three points off them and ensure the Cherries claimed a 1-1 draw.
And on the south coast, Brighton threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Wolves.
Matheus Cunha scored the equaliser with a deflected strike in added time.

THAT IS SURELY THE WINNER!
This has been an absolutely incredible match, and the Bees look to have snatched the win at the death, and it's their star man Bryan Mbeumo with the goal.
However, it's an awful goal to concede from Ipswich's point of view.
The ball is played into Mbeumo on the right.
He cuts inside and curls a cross towards the far post.
It misses everyone and bounces into the back of the net.
Wow, what a game!

ALL SQUARE!
What a match this is, and ten-man Ipswich are level through the substitute Liam Delap.
However, this is all about Leif Davis.
The left-back strides forward, looks up and delivers a stunning cross into the box.
It's begging to be put away, and there is Liam Delap to stick it in the back of the net.
