Jamie O'Hara was full of praise for James Maddison's performance against Man City, saying 'he's answered his critics'.
"He's scored two today, he's answered his critics," O'Hara told Game-Day Phone-In.
"He's come under a bit of pressure, he lost his place in the England squad, hasn't been playing, been getting dragged week-in, week-out.
"But he's put in a top, top performance so far.
"Picked up the injury against Chelsea a year ago, really struggled to get back into form.
"Two goals won't do him any harm, so congratulations to him."

WHAT HAVE WE JUST WITNESSED!
Tottenham have turned up at the Etihad and dismantled Manchester City, ending their 52-game unbeaten home record emphatically.
It is the worst home defeat for City under Pep Guardiola, while the Spaniard has now lost three Premier League games in a row for the first time.
Overall, it's five consecutive defeats for Man City.
You have to remember that Spurs were without their two star centre-backs.
But goals from James Maddison, Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson sealed a famous win for Tottenham.

YOU DON'T SEE THIS VERY OFTEN!
The two substitutes Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson combine, and send the travelling Spurs fans delirious.
Jack Grealish gifts possession to Werner, and he bursts past him down the left.
He looks up and rolls a pass across the box, and there is Johnson to slide and put the ball in.
This has been a battering!

Bit of a flashpoint as Kevin De Bruyne is booked for a late tackle on Pape Mate Sarr.
The incident happened after De Bruyne slipped Erling Haaland in on goal.
He fired in a shot that was saved, which rebounded towards De Bruyne, but as he swung his leg, he made no contact with the ball and wiped Sarr out.
The Spurs midfielder wasn't happy and leaped up to confront De Bruyne, leading to both men going into the book.

So close to 4-0!
Dejan Kulusevski is having the game of his life and Dominic Solanke finds him on the right.
He dribbles into the box, beats Manuel Akanji and drives in a strike that Ederson blocks.
If anyone deserves a goal, it is definitely him.

When it's not your night, it isn't your night.
Erling Haaland does well on the right to create space for a strike.
He steps up and bends a stunning effort that beats Guglielmo Vicario all ends up.
But it rebounds off the crossbar and bounces away to safety.

THIS IS INCREDIBLE!
The former Man City man strikes and that could be the killer goal!
Dejan Kulusevski has time on the left and whips a cross to the far side of the box.
Dominic Solanke does well to chase after it, and he lays it back to Porro.
The Spaniard composes himself and whips a shot into the back of the net.
This is the first time that Manchester City have been 3-0 down at home in a Premier League game since February 2016 v Leicester City, when Manuel Pellegrini was manager.

We are back underway for the second 45 minutes.
There has been one change as Nathan Ake replaces John Stones.
It remains to be seen if that is tactical, or if it's another injury.

Well, that's the end of an astonishing 45 minutes at the Etihad.
The hosts started like a train and could have been 2-0 up through Erling Haaland.
But the match flipped on its head when Dejan Kulusevski found James Maddison with a delightful inswinging cross, and he finished.
He then doubled the lead with a delicate chip.
Since then, the hosts have looked very open out of possession and lacked ideas when on the ball.
After signing his new contract, Pep Guardiola has a big team talk on his hands.

Pedro Porro nearly gifts a way back into the game for Man City.
John Stones lifts a ball forward in the direction of Savinho, who has peeled off the back of the Spaniard.
But Porro still elects to head the ball back to his goalkeeper.
It looks as if it's going to drop for Savinho, but the bounce just beats him and Guglielmo Vicario gathers.
Savinho clatters into him, and he's in a bit of pain.

The hosts are so open at all times.
Tottenham are carving through them at will.
Heung-min Son drifts in from the left and has Pedro Porro on the right, but he finds the inside pass to Dominic Solanke.
The striker holds off his man and rifles in a shot that Ederson tips over the bar.
The resulting corner comes to nothing.
This is also the earliest City have been 2-0 down at home since 2019 against Everton.

WOW!
WOW!
You doubt James Maddison could have dreamt about a better birthday present than this.
Josko Gvardiol gifts possession to the England international on the edge of the box.
He finds Heung-min Son, who reverses a pass back to Maddison in the box.
He takes a touch and lobs Ederson.
In the process, Maddison makes history as the first Premier League player to score two or more goals on his birthday against the reigning champions.

IT'S A BIRTHDAY GOAL!
James Maddison has put Spurs into the lead totally against the run of play, and though it was a good finish, this is all about Dejan Kulusevski.
The Swede puts Josko Gvardiol under pressure on the right and nicks possession.
He takes a touch inside before delivering a sublime cross that is begging to be put away.
Maddison arrives into the box and connects with a left-footed volley that flashes into the net.

Another opportunity for Erling Haaland comes and goes.
It's sublime play from Savinho, who dummies a pass to leave two Spurs players nowhere.
He takes a touch and drives a pass into the striker.
Haaland hits his effort first time, but he arrows it straight at Guglielmo Vicario, who blocks with his legs.

Big opportunity goes begging for Erling Haaland!
Phil Foden has started this game very well, and he plays a low pass into Josko Gvardiol.
The Croatian international picks out Haaland in space in the box.
For some reason, he takes way too long to get a shot away, and when he does pull the trigger, it's blocked.

The match at the Etihad is underway and Yves Bissouma is going to be walking a tightrope for the rest of the match already.
The ball is played into Phil Foden, and he glides past the Malian international, who brings him down.
He's immediately shown a yellow card, meaning he is going to have to be very careful.

Rodri was named the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner after leading Manchester City to the Premier League title last year.
He then went to Euro 2024 and became European champion.
Since suffering an ACL injury against Arsenal earlier this season, the Citizens haven't looked the same, showing just how important he is.
He was the deserved winner, and tonight, he has been presented with the trophy in front of his adoring fans.

Finally, after weeks and months of speculation, Pep Guardiola ended all the speculation over his future by penning a new two-year deal at the Etihad.
The Spaniard joined the Citizens in 2016, which means he will make it to at least ten years at the Etihad.
In that time, City have won six Premier League titles, and they've basically dominated English football since.
Of course, this year has been a bit difficult so far, but Guardiola is totally committed to the club, and he's ready to keep winning trophies.
Speaking after his contract was confirmed, he said: “Manchester City means so much to me.
“This is my ninth season here; we have experienced so many amazing times together.
That will be my focus.”

Mateo Kovacic is the latest to join the injury list for the Citizens, so Rico Lewis is set to play in that defensive midfield role.
Kevin De Bruyne is also still only fit enough for a place on the bench.
Meanwhile, Spurs are without Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
