The Premier League Trophy is set to make an appearance in Liverpool, giving fans the chance to see it up close.

The coveted domestic football award will be on display today - 24 hours before the Reds could potentially secure its return to Anfield.

The earliest Liverpool could officially be crowned Premier League champions is Sunday, April 20, when they face Leicester City away.

This would be Liverpool’s second Premier League title - to add to their 18 championships from before the Premier League's creation - but the first they’d be able to properly celebrate with fans after their 2019/20 triumph came during the Covid-19 lockdown.

If they triumph and Arsenal suffer defeat in their earlier match against Ipswich, the Reds will be declared champions.

Ahead of the match, the Premier League Trophy will be in Liverpool today for fans to experience in person.

The Premier League Trophy will be showcased at Currys in Aintree Retail Park.

From 9am to 5pm, supporters can drop by the store to take a picture or simply admire the trophy up close.

In collaboration with Sky, the broadcaster's retail operations manager Jamie Sleight told the ECHO: "We at Sky are delighted to bring the Premier League Trophy to Aintree this weekend for local fans and customers to celebrate the launch of our Sky Glass Gen 2 TV.

"This event brilliantly combines the best of Sky and Currys, offering customers a once-in-a-lifetime experience ahead of the thrilling Premier League title run-in, live on Sky Sports.

"The excitement is palpable as we gear up for what promises to be an unforgettable conclusion to the season!
