Premier League CEO Richard Masters refused to be drawn on when Liverpool, Manchester City and the rest of the division will discover the outcome of the financial hearing into the current champions.
City were charged with 115 alleged breaches of financial rules in February 2023.
These charges referred to between 2009 and 2018 and how City paid staff and players during that time period.

The said hearing ended in December and it is now only a matter of time before the Reds discover their arch rivals' fate - with a verdict expected to be announced before the end of the season.

"I mean, the disciplinary panel has heard the case and they must be left alone now to consider their decision and given the time and space to be able to do that.

"That is pretty much as far as I can go." Nobody is entirely sure as to what City's punishment could be if they are found guilty and the impact it may have on Liverpool, who had finished runners up to City in that time period, if this were to happen.
Previous suggestions have hinted that City's worst case scenario would be relegation from the top flight - with other potential punishments including a points deduction or fines.
