The Premier League has confirmed when fixtures for the 2025-26 season will be released.
The current Premier League season is set to end in less than two months, with Liverpool currently on course to win the title.
The Reds sit 12 points ahead of Arsenal, with nine games still to play.
As things stand, they need 16 points from their remaining nine games to be confirmed winners of the 2024/25 Premier League title.
Their first game in that run-in comes up on Wednesday against an in-form Everton side, who will be desperate to derail Liverpool’s title charge for the second season in row, having done so last campaign.
However, while the final details of this season are still being applied, the Premier League is already making plans for the coming season.
In November, the league announced the start and stop dates of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
They confirmed that the opening round of games is due to begin on Saturday August 16, while the season will end on Sunday May 24, 2026.
On Monday, the Premier League released a statement confirming when next season’s fixture schedule will be announced.
“The release of the fixtures for the 2025-26 Premier League season has been confirmed to take place at 9am BST on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
“Dates for all 380 matches will be released at that time.”
The 2025-26 campaign will be made up of 33 weekends and five midweek match rounds in total.
According to the Premier League, “the schedule continues to allow more rest time for players over the festive match-round period, with no two rounds taking place within 60 hours of each other?
This is in keeping with commitments made to clubs to address the congested Christmas and New Year schedule.”
Liverpool will be desperate to begin the first match of the season as defending champions.
Should the Reds be crowned Premier League champions this season, they will face the winners of this season’s FA Cup in the Community Shield on the weekend before the league starts.
