Darren England, the Premier League referee who was on VAR duty during Arsenal's 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday, will oversee Liverpool's trip to Bournemouth at the weekend.

Along with Michael Oliver, England played a big role in sending off Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The teenage defender saw red for what initially looked to be a trip on Matt Doherty.



Oliver had other ideas, dismissing Lewis-Skelly on the stroke of half-time.

The decision has caused an uproar across the league, with those of an Arsenal persuasion the most incensed.

Lewis-Skelly and his teammates were left fuming at Molineux after the incident, and Mikel Arteta also showed his frustration.

Oliver himself has not only been given another assignment immediately - he will referee Ipswich Town's bottom of the league clash with Southampton next week - but he is also on duty to take charge of the rearranged Merseyside derby.

Supported by Chris Kavanagh and Eddie Smart on VAR from Stockley Park, Oliver will be the official for a key fixture in the title race.

Before that, Arne Slot's side will come face-to-face with England as he takes centre stage for the trip to Bournemouth.

England has also come under heat since the Lewis-Skelly sending off after he reviewed the footage and didn't refer Oliver to a pitch-side check.

For Liverpool's test against Andoni Iraola's team, they will have John Brooks and Dan Cook on VAR.
