Premier League clubs reportedly met on Thursday(Image: Mike Egerton/PA Wire)

Liverpool and all other English top-flight clubs reportedly held a meeting on Thursday to discuss, among other things, bringing in two new sponsors for the Premier League.

It is reported by CityAm that top-flight clubs held a meeting to discuss the league’s proposed Squad Cost Ratio rules.

There are plans to alter the Premier League's financial fair play rules to be more aligned with UEFA.

The report also claims that all 20 Premier League clubs will be asked to give the green light to multimillion-pound deals with Coca-Cola and Adobe.

The deals will reportedly fill gaps in the league's sponsorship roster and add Adobe to a growing list of technology partners.

However, the report also claims, according to a source, that the new deals would only be formally discussed at Thursday's meeting if sufficient progress had been made in negotiations with the two companies.

If the deals are done, it will mean more money into Premier League clubs' pockets ahead of the summer transfer window.

The meeting will have been held amid the ongoing wait for a verdict from Manchester City's legal case with the Premier League.

The reigning champions face 115 charges over alleged financial breaches of Premier League rules.

City boss Pep Guardiola disclosed in February that he anticipates a verdict 'in a month' following the hearing, that occurred before an independent panel from September to December last year.

The club has strenuously denied all allegations.

Speculation is rife regarding the potential consequences for City should they be found to have breached the rules.

Relegation and financial penalties to points deductions and even the stripping of titles has been speculated upon, with Liverpool fans waiting to see what happens.
