Michael Oliver, the referee at the centre of the recent Merseyside derby controversy, has been assigned VAR duties for Aston Villa's match this weekend.
Everton managed to secure a last-minute equaliser through James Tarkowski in the final derby match at Goodison, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
As fans stormed the pitch, stewards and police intervened before Liverpool manager Arne Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also shown the red card by referee Oliver.

The Premier League has named Rob Jones as the match referee, with Stuart Burt and Neil Davies serving as his assistants
Darren Bond will act as the fourth official, while Eddie Smart is slated to assist Oliver in VAR duties.
It was a protracted VAR review of Tarkowski's 98th-minute equaliser at Goodison Park that sparked the ensuing chaos, with Chris Kavanagh being the official who ultimately advised Oliver that the goal was valid
