That is a golden opportunity for Amad Diallo!
Bruno Fernandes dinks a lovely ball past the offside trap for Diogo Dalot.
He looks up and sees Amad Diallo waiting in the area.
The delivery is spot on for the young winger, but he somehow gets past the ball and clears it.
If he made proper contact, that was 1-0 to Man United, but in the end, it's an excellent defensive header.

Good save Andre Onana!
Mohamed Salah drifts in from the right and lifts a delicate ball into the box.
Alexis Mac Allister has made a run from deep and watches the pass drop over his shoulder.
He connects with a decent volley that Onana does well to block for a corner.
The Man United number one then gathers the corner.

Very close to an opener!
Luis Diaz finds a pocket of space on the left and slips a delightful pass into Ryan Gravenberch.
The Dutchman sees his fellow countryman Cody Gakpo making a run in behind and slides him in.
Gakpo goes for goal with the outside of his boot and just sends his shot past the far post.
After a poor start from the hosts, they are starting to gain some control.

Manuel Ugarte is very lucky to avoid a yellow card there!
Man United have made a good start to the match, but they loses possession in midfield and Cody Gakpo nips in.
He looks to start a counter-attack, but Ugarte wipes him out.
Referee Michael Oliver decides it is just worthy of a warning, but it definitely stopped a good chance for the hosts.

Diogo Dalot is going to have to deal with Mohamed Salah better than that!
For the first time in the game, Trent Alexander-Arnold plays a pass into the Egyptian.
Dalot backs off him and allows him to come inside on his left foot.
Salah can't believe it and curls a cross into the box that Harry Maguire stabs away with Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo lurking.

Early stoppage in the game as Kobbie Mainoo slides into a tackle.
The ball skips away from him and Ryan Gravenberch catches the England international with a trailing foot.
It slams into his face and leaves him in a bit of pain.
For some reason, he's booed by the home crowd when it's a clear head injury.
Thankfully, he's absolutely fine to carry on after some treatment.

Okay, here we go!
Before we get underway, there is the traditional rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.
Virgil van Dijk wins the toss, meaning the hosts will attack The Kop in the second half.
It's a brutal night on Meryeside, will it be another bruising evening for Ruben Amorim and co?

Well, it would be fair to say that Roy Keane isn't looking forward to this game at all.
The former Red Devils captain is never afraid to be honest about Man United, but he is still usually positive before games.
However, there is not even an ounce of positivity from him today.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "I don't feel it today.
This is one of the worst United teams in a long time."
Given the contrasting forms between the two teams, you can understand why he feels the way he does.

Interestingly, this is the first time that Ruben Amorim has named the same defence in back-to-back Premier League games.
The former Sporting Lisbon manager arrived at Old Trafford in November 2024 to replace Erik ten Hag.
Since then, things haven't gone to plan, with the Red Devils losing their last four league games.
However, rather than chopping and changing his back five for this one, he's decided to go with the same defence from the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
He will hope they can produce a better display than they managed at Old Trafford a week ago.

There is no Marcus Rashford in the Manchester United squad for this game against Liverpool.
Ruben Amorim revealed that the England international was doubtful for this match due to illness, and that illness has prevented him from travelling to Anfield.
Rashford has played no part in Man United's last four Premier League games.
He did return to the substitutes bench for the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle but remained on the sidelines for the whole match.
Ans speaking ahead of the match, Amorim said: “Marcus Rashford is still ill, so he's not available for the game today”.

There goes the final whistle, and what a great game we've been served up by these two!
Ipswich had the lead through Sammie Szmodics after some awful defending from Calvin Bassey.
But the Cottagers got an equaliser through Raul Jimenez from the penalty spot after Harry Wilson was fouled in the box.
21 seconds later, Ipswich got a spot kick of their own through Liam Delap, and he slammed his effort into the top corner.
Opta recorded the two penalties as the shortest between each other in the Premier League.
But there was still one more twist to come as Jimenez was tripped in the box by Leif Davis, and he stepped up to score again.
He is now the all-time top Mexican goalscorer in Premier League history, with 55.
It was a cruel ending for the Tractor Boys, who remain in the relegation zone.

WHAT A SPOT KICK!
Raul Jimenez steps up, slows down and picks out the top corner.
It's a delightful spot kick as he opens up his foot and plants it beyond Christian Walton.
Now, can they get a winner?
They have seven minutes of stoppage time to do so!

Another spot kick, and it's gone to Fulham!
Moments before, Ipswich hit the post through Jack Clarke.
Oh football, you can be so cruel.
But down the other end, Raul Jimenez gets into the box and weaves his way to the byline.
Leif Davis just leaves a leg hanging, and the Mexican goes over.
He will take...

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE RESPONSE!
21 seconds after the restart, Ipswich are awarded a penalty of their own.
Liam Delap bursts into the box and cuts inside.
He's clipped by Timothy Castagne, and the referee is in the perfect place to award the spot kick.
Delap steps up and lashes his effort into the top corner.
That could be a massive goal come the end of the season!
Opta officially have that as the shortest gap between two penalties scored in the Premier League, with Fulham scoring in the 69th minute and Ipswich in the 71st.

COOL AS YOU LIKE!
Raul Jimenez takes a very long run-up.
He slows himself down a couple of times before picking his spot.
Christian Walton doesn't really get close to the the strike, and it's game on!

The Cottagers have a spot kick!
Harry Wilson advances into the box and Sam Morsy catches his calf.
It's a stupid challenge from the Ipswich captain, who is booked.
Initially, it isn't given because Darren Bond didn't see it.
He is sent to the VAR screen and changes his mind.
Raul Jimenez to take...

Of course, after this match, we have the small matter of Liverpool versus Manchester United at Anfield.
The two English giants couldn't be enjoying [or not in Man United's case] so different seasons, and the home side will be raring to get stuck into their great rivals.
There was a risk that this one was going to be called off due to snow, but it's going ahead, and we have the teams!
The big news for Liverpool is that Ibrahima Konate is fit to start after recovering from an MCL injury.
The Frenchman replaces Joe Gomez at the heart of the defence.
He is the only change from the 5-0 win over West Ham.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils welcome Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte back from suspension.
Kobbie Mainoo also starts as Ruben Amorim makes three changes from the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Manuel Ugarte drop to the bench.
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones, Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
Subs: Kelleher, Endo, Nunez, Chiesa, Elliott, Jota, Tsimikas, Quansah, Bradley
Man United: Onana, De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez, Mazraoui, Dalot, Mianoo, Ugarte, Amad, Fernandes, Hojlund

Change at half time for the hosts as Marco Silva makes a positive move.
He introduces Emile Smith Rowe for Issa Diop.
The former Arsenal man slots into the number ten role as we get back underway for the second half.

That's the end of the first 45 minutes, and it's the Tractor Boys who have the lead.
Sammie Szmodics has the only goal of the game after he pounced on an awful Calvin Bassey clearance, and though the visitors have had barely any of the ball, they have been largely comfortable.
The hosts have managed just one shot on target at Craven Cottage.
However, they will feel Ipswich should be down to ten men after Leif Davis fouled Harry Wilson when he was charging through on goal.
Darren Bond ruled that there was cover, so it only a yellow for the Ipswich man, who then played a part in the goal.

HUGE MOMENT!
The visitors have the lead, and it's Sammie Szmodics with the goal!
Liam Delap does well to hold up a long pass and finds Leif Davis.
He picks out Nathan Broadhead, who curls an excellent cross to the far post for Ben Johnson.
The former West Ham crashes a header off the bar, and it drops to Calvin Bassey, who produces a horrible clearance that drops for Szmodics.
He steadies himself before rifling a shot in off Bassey and into the net.
As it stands, Ipswich are now out of the drop zone!
Since the start of last season only Alexander Isak, Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Mohamed Salah have scored more goals than Szmodics across England's top two tiers [32].

Leif Davis, you lucky boy!
Raul Jimenez touches the ball off for Harry Wilson in the middle of the pitch, and the Welshman bursts through the Ipswich defence.
Davis comes across and takes out Wilson.
The referee doesn't see it as the denial of a clear-goalscoring opportunity, so it's just a booking.
However, it definitely looked like he was in on goal, so he's got away with one there.

Big save from Christian Walton!
Tom Cairney is gifted a free-kick by the referee despite Jens Cajuste barely touching him.
The initial ball into the box is cleared and worked back to Cairney.
He delivers a deep cross into the box, and there is Raul Jimenez.
The Mexican striker connects with a firm header that Walton does well to palm away.

First opportunity of the game goes Ipswich's way!
Liam Delap does well to win a free-kick 35-yards-out, which Sam Morsy clips to the far post for Leif Davis.
He volleys a cross into the box that is blocked, but the Tractor Boys recycle possession and work it back to Davis.
He delivers a dream cross that is begging to be put away, and Sammie Szmodics throws himself at it.
He is inches away from making contact and grabbing a certain goal, but he can't quite reach the delivery.
What a stunning cross, though.

This has been a very confident start to the game from the hosts.
They so far boast 85 per cent possession and have penned the pink shirts of Ipswich deep into their half.
However, Kieran McKenna's side have changed to a back three in recent games, and they look a lot more solid defensively.
Clearly, they've been working on it on the training ground.

Right, we are underway at Craven Cottage as Fulham take on Ipswich on a bitterly cold afternoon in west London.
The Tractor Boys arrive at Craven Cottage off the back of an excellent 2-0 win over Chelsea.
That result means they can get out of the relegation zone with a win here.
Meanwhile, Fulham enjoyed an excellent first half of the season, claiming 29 points.
They are well in the race for Europe, and they will see this match as a great chance to get three points.
