Manchester City travel to Nottingham Forest to kickstart the weekend's Premier League action - live on talkSPORT at 12:30.
But they do so without defender Nathan Ake - who is expected to be out for up to 11 weeks following foot surgery.
The centre-back was forced off at half-time in last weekend's FA Cup victory over Plymouth and later underwent an operation to repair a fracture.
It is the latest in a series of fitness issues in a frustrating campaign for the Dutchman, with the foot issue having been particularly troublesome for some time.
Guardiola said at a press conference: "Ten weeks, 11 weeks (out), they said to me.
It's in our hands, and we're going to fight for that."

After his remarkable performance in midweek for Liverpool in the Champions League, Alisson Becker has been receiving a lot of praise.
The Brazilian international made ten saves to help the Reds beat PSG 1-0, and he was correctly named Man of the Match.
And since then Arne Slot and his fellow professionals have lauded the shot-stopper.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Southampton, Slot said: He saves shots!
I’m delighted and comforted that he will remain with us in a vitally important role as we use the new Everton Stadium as a launchpad for regeneration of the local area.
"Kevin has been integral in ensuring Premier League survival in this difficult period. By resolving PSR issues through significant player trading we believe we have an extraordinary squad that can be the foundation for future success. This future success will also be supported by our talented sporting department assembled by Kevin. We are pleased Kevin will remain with us in this interim period."

Ruben Amorim has provided a Manchester United injury update ahead of their game against Arsenal.
The Red Devils head coach has indicated that Manuel Ugarte should be fit and that Mason Mount is also close.
However, Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo remain out as long-term absentees, though is hope the latter could return before the end of the season.
Speaking after Man United's 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad, he said: "Manu will return.
"I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can return, we'll see.
"They definitely are going to return, especially Mason Mount."

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim cannot see how he'll be given the same time as Mikel Arteta to get things right at Old Trafford.
Speaking after Man United's 1-1 draw in the Europa League round of 16 against Real Socieded, the former Sporting Lisbon boss previewed the game against Arsenal at the weekend.
And one of the questions he was asked was about Arteta's longevity, given the Spaniard arrived at the Emirates in 2019.
But Amorim believes he must deliver success or he won't get the same time.
He said: "I will not have the time that Arteta have.
"It's a different club, so we just need to survive during these games.
"I think it's a different club.
"If all goes to plan, he will be available vs Fulham."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been speaking about the attacking prowess of Riccardo Calafiori.
The Italian international was on the scoresheet during the 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, making it three goals for the season.
He also set one up during that rout, and it's clear the defender is dangerous in attacking situations.
All of Calafiori's goals have come in open play this season, and Arteta thinks he is quite unique.
Speaking ahead of facing Manchester United at the weekend, he said: "He certainly has that capacity to flow in areas that for a defender is very unusual.
So Anthony understands."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been speaking to the media ahead of their game against Southampton this weekend.
The Reds are flying high at the top of the Premier League and are also edging towards the next round of the Champions League after a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
Slot largely has a fit squad to choose from but was without Cody Gakpo in midweek.
The Dutchman travelled with the team to Paris but watched on from the sidelines, and he is doubtful to be involved this weekend as well.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot said: He didn't train yesterday yet, let's see if he can train today.
But he's trained every day this week."
