William Saliba is reportedly a transfer target for Real Madrid.

The Arsenal centre-back has been a defensive rock in the Premier League and and is regarded as one of the best in his position.

Saliba has been part of a Gunners side who have competed for the title in the past two seasons and is attracting interest in Europe.

Spanish outlet SPORT say Madrid are interested in signing the French international to bolster their defence.

His market value is said to be around £66.5million, although Arsenal are said to have recently rejected a near-£79million bid from Paris Saint-Germain.

Saliba has made 26 appearances for Arsenal this season, including their 3-1 comeback win at Brentford on Wednesday night.

Aaron Anselmino has revealed his excitement at returning to Chelsea amid his loan deal being cut short.

The highly-rated young defender signed for the Blues last summer in a reported £15.6million deal from Boca Juniors.

Anselmino returned to the Argentine giants on a 12-month loan deal but the BBC have reported that he has been recalled him this month.

They also said it is not yet clear if he will be part of Enzo Maresca's squad or head out on loan, potentially to sister club Strasbourg.

However, Anselmino spoke to ESPN en route to London about how excited he is over his Chelsea return: "I'm very happy for this new opportunity.

"But now we have to be able to find a solution and it's the moment for other players to show that they are ready to help us and ensure that their answer is going to be good.

"So we are looking for the recovery as soon as possible for Jarrod, but in the same way, believing in the players that are in the squad and they are going to try to take advantage of this opportunity."

Saudi Arabia is a potential destination for Casemiro should he leave Manchester United according to Alex Crook.

The former Real Madrid midfielder has been a shadow of his former self at Old Trafford over the past couple of years.

Casemiro has so far been benched on four occasions in the Premier League by Ruben Amorim so his future could therefore be elsewhere.

talkSPORT's chief football correspondent Crook said on Matterface and Crook that the Brazilian is a transfer to keep an eye on.

"There's always been interest from Saudi in Casemiro, and I think Manchester United would probably drive him there themselves.

We have got injuries and problems with that but we are also able to overcome them."

Manchester United have put feelers out in their quest to sign a replacement for Altay Bayindir, talkSPORT understands.

Ruben Amorim's side are looking to bring in another goalkeeper to provide competition for Andre Onana.

Bayindir signed from Fenerbahce in September 2023 but has made only four appearances for the club.

They have all come in cup competitions instead of the Premier League, with the Turk clearly second choice at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old played in all three matches of their Carabao Cup run before their quarter-final exit to Tottenham.

Amorim's go-to goalkeeper Onana has made 26 appearances this season and kept seven clean sheets despite United's poor form.

Aston Villa are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a move for Donyell Malen, talkSPORT understands.

Dortmund are willing to sell the 25-year-old Dutchman for a fee in the region of £25million.

Malen, who used to play in Arsenal's academy, signed for the Bundesliga outfit in 2021 from PSV Eindhoven.

The winger has made 131 appearances for Dortmund, scoring 39 goals and assisting another 20.

He has only made six starts in the Bundesliga this season though and netted just five goals in 20 outings.

Villa appear keen to strengthen in January ahead of the second half of the season.

Unai Emery's side are ninth in the Premier League following their 2-2 draw against Brighton on Monday.

Tottenham face another lengthy injury lay-off as Destiny Udogie may not return until March.

The left-back was substituted with a hamstring issue during their 2-2 draw against Wolves on Sunday.

Udogie was playing as part of an already depleted Spurs defence as Cristiano Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies were all absent.

As reported by The Sun, the 22-year-old is set to be out of action for the next two months.

However, Udogie does not need to undergo surgery in what will be a silver lining for Spurs.

Ange Postecoglou may start Sergio Reguilon or Djed Spence at left-back when they face Newcastle on Saturday, live on talkSPORT.

Henry Winter believes that Real Madrid is a 'dream move' for Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool.

talkSPORT understands that the Reds have rejected an approach from Spanish giants Madrid to sign the defender this month.

Alexander-Arnold's contract expires at the end of the season but his boyhood club Liverpool do not want to lose him mid-campaign.

They hope to persuade him to sign a new deal, but journalist Winter has hinted that a move to Madrid may be too good to turn down.

"You look at Trent Alexander-Arnold and the service that he has given Liverpool Football Club, you look at the team that's coming in for him," he said on talkSPORT Breakfast.

"I mean, this is not an average team in Ligue 1, this is Real Madrid, the European and Spanish champions, this would be a dream move for him.

"I have no inside information, but I just think that looking at it from the outside, that this is Real Madrid.

"I think the huge compliment that you can pay to Trent Alexander-Arnold at the moment is that maybe when he did that sort of 'yapping' gesture when he scored the fourth against West Ham, he was just signalling there's so much talk about it.

"It's not affecting his football.

And we will move to look for someone in defence."

Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is a potential Tottenham target, talkSPORT understands.

The relegation candidates would consider offers for Johnstone, who has failed to establish himself as their number one.

Spurs showed interest in the England international when he was at Crystal Palace before his £10million move to Wolves in August.

Johnstone has made seven appearances for the club in the Premier League this season, with Jose Sa Wolves' preferred option.

A move to Spurs would see him compete for a starting spot with Guglielmo Vicario, who's currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

The experienced Fraser Forster has played in his absence but conceded 15 goals in seven league outings.

Tottenham and Newcastle are considering a January swoop for Fikayo Tomori, talkSPORT understands.

West Ham and Brentford are also keen on the former Chelsea centre-back who currently plays for AC Milan.

Tomori was a regular for the Italian giants when he signed in January 2021, initially on loan from the Blues before a permanent move.

However, he has made only six starts in Serie A this season and made just two substitute appearances across their last nine matches.

The 27-year-old rose through the ranks at Chelsea's esteemed Cobham academy and made his senior debut in 2016.

Tomori featured 27 times in total for the west London club before he left for Milan, with whom he won the Serie A title in 2022.

talkSPORT's Gabby Agbonlahor believes Alexander Isak is the closest player he's seen to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Despite a slow start to the season, the Newcastle striker has been in excellent form of late and has scored 12 Premier League goals.

Isak has netted eight of those across his past six league appearances including a hat-trick in their 4-0 win at Ipswich Town.

The Sweden international could be set for huge transfer interest in the coming months, with Agbonlahor holding him in high regard.

"What I love about when I watch him is that he can score a goal out of nothing," he said on Breakfast.

"You know, sometimes I've watched [Erling] Haaland recently, he's not getting the [Kevin] De Bruyne service he's used to.

"But I watch Isak, get the ball into him, he can score from outside the box, he can create his own goal, he can dribble past three or four players.

"So good, he's got everything, the attributes that he's got.

I just think he's an outstanding player, I love watching him and I think he's the closest I've seen in the Premier League to Thierry Henry, definitely."

Marcus Rashford would be keen on a move to Spain if he leaves Manchester United.

That's according to talkSPORT's chief football correspondent Alex Crook as the forward eyes an Old Trafford exit.

Rashford admitted at the end of 2024 in an interview with Henry Winter that he's 'ready for a new challenge'.

Should he leave his boyhood club, then the 27-year-old may be interested on swapping the Premier League for LaLiga.

"My understanding is that his preferred destination would be Spain and therefore Barcelona, potentially, could be one of the clubs that he would be interested in signing [for]," Crook said on Breakfast.

However, a move to Barcelona appears unlikely as the Spanish giants currently face squad registration problems.

Dani Olmo signed from RB Leipzig in a reported summer deal worth £51million but was only registered for the first half of the season.

This is because Barcelona were unable to meet LaLiga's restrictions on wage caps, with a court rejecting their attempts to register him again last week.

On Monday, a second court backed this decision, which means that Olmo may been unable to play for the club from now on.

When asked if United could bring Rashford back into the fold, Crook said: "I think it's gone too far for that.

"Having called him back to the squad to then leave him to sit on the bench, or clearly his attitude's not been up to scratch."

Adidas could reportedly terminate their kit deal with Manchester United if were relegated from the Premier League.

Record 13-time winners United have endured a dismal season so far and are 14th in the table, seven points above the bottom three.

Relegation may seem unlikely given their immense status and riches but it's become a topic of conversation amid their poor form.

The Telegraph have reported that United's kit sponsors Adidas could end their agreement if such an outcome was to happen this season.

United signed a ten-year extension with the German sportswear giants in 2023 worth £90million-a-year.

They could also reduce yearly payments by half to £45million if United were to be relegated.

"Adidas may reduce the applicable payments for a year by 50 per cent if the men’s first team is not participating in the English Premier League during that year," a United document reportedly reads.

"In addition, Adidas may terminate the agreement by giving one full-season’s notice if the men’s first team is relegated from the English Premier League or if it is otherwise determined that the men’s first team shall not be participating in the Premier League or the top English league."

Furthermore, the deal with Adidas includes a £10million penalty for United should they not qualify for the Champions League this season.

Rodri admits he was 'surprised' by Cristiano Ronaldo's comments that questioned his Ballon d'Or win last year.

The Manchester City midfielder won the prestigious award that is voted for by journalists following an incredible year on the pitch, during which he won the Premier League.

However, five-time winner Ronaldo believes that Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr, who finished second, should have taken the title.

"In my opinion, he [Vinicius Jr] deserved to win the Golden Ball.
