It was a fresh challenge, away from the constant pressure of coaching.

He spoke about how he wanted to focus on football development, something he couldn’t do as a manager.

Many assumed he would stay in this role for the foreseeable future.

But now, some of football’s biggest names are considering bringing him back to the dugout.

Real Madrid are one of them.

TBR Football reports that Klopp’s name is being discussed at Madrid, with some believing that an experienced manager is needed for their current squad.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to step away at the end of the season, with Brazil as his likely destination.

Though Xabi Alonso is Madrid’s preferred choice, Klopp remains under consideration.

Klopp previously spoke about why he took his new role, saying, “I’ve been a leader for the last three decades, but I want to listen, I want to feel, I want to learn and I want to understand what the people did so far, because I can tell you they all did a brilliant job.”

He explained, “When you’re in the manager’s job, you have no time for that, because you play every three days and it’s just winning, winning, winning or dealing with defeat.”

“Now I’m free of that.

I have time and energy for all the other stuff.”

A return to management would be a big decision for Klopp.

But if Real Madrid come calling, it might be hard to say no.
