Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all still yet to agree a new deal at Anfield, with the latter being heavily linked with a move away this summer.

Real Madrid are pushing to sign Alexander Arnold having seen their first offer knocked back by the Reds in January.

With only months left on the defender’s deal, Liverpool are hoping they can persuade Alexander-Arnold to stay – if they can’t however, it seems like they now have a plan B up their sleeve.

With Alexander-Arnold’s future remaining up in the air, the Reds are now putting plans in place to find his replacement.

Recent weeks have saw Liverpool be linked to Malo Gusto, with the Reds also interested in Joshua Kimmich.

The latest name however to be added to Liverpool’s right-back wishlist is reportedly Feyenoord’s Givairo Read.

That is according to CaughtOffisde, who claim the Reds are stepping up their interest in the 18-year-old defender, with Premier League rivals Manchester United also circling for his signature.

The report also states that Read has already rejected an approach from the Red Devils, with the young defender said to be keen on reuniting with Arne Slot, who handed him his first-team debut at Feyenoord.

Replacing a player of Alexander-Arnold’s quality will be no easy task, but it seems like Read is already trying to endear himself to the Liverpool faithful.

That is because during a quick-fire interview with Votebal International in October 2024, Read was questioned “Manchester City or Manchester United?” and the young Dutchman would end up choosing neither, replying with:

“Liverpool, for sure!

Nothing else, no one else.”

With the 18-year-old keen on an Anfield switch, it seems like the ball is in Liverpool’s court to get the deal done this summer.
