Liverpool’s January transfer window has so far been basically a whole lot of talk about Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold could be on his way to Real Madrid this winter as the Reds attempt to fight off an approach from the European champions.
But the Liverpool academy graduate is not the only player who’s Anfield future has been under the microscope.
After a disappointing start to his Liverpool career, there have been strong rumours that Federico Chiesa could leave the Reds on-loan.
Reports have claimed that Liverpool are set to meet Chiesa’s agent as the Italian looks for clarity on his immediate future.
And whether those discussions have or have not yet taken place, Arne Slot has reportedly come to a decision about what to do with Chiesa.

Chiesa’s time at Liverpool could hardly have gone worse so far.
Plagued by fitness concerns, the 27-year-old has featured for just 123 minutes across four appearances.
Inevitably, chatter has arisen – mainly from his native Italy – to claim that Chiesa is not happy with his status at Liverpool so far.

Whether that is true or not, it is certainly the case that the Italy international needs to play more in the second half of the season.
And with likes of former club Fiorentina poised to take a run at Chiesa, The Daily Mail report what Slot has now decided.

They claim that the Liverpool head coach is ‘reluctant’ to see the forward leave on-loan this January.
Slot reportedly wants six attackers in the Liverpool squad and with Chiesa said to have been ‘building his match fitness’ over the past few weeks, he is still set to be one of them.
In our opinion, the crux of this is whether Chiesa wants to leave or not.
There appears to be a market for him in Italy if he decides that he is keen to return home.
Should that be the player’s wish, then Liverpool should perhaps not stand in his way.
For the amount of impact Chiesa has had so far, his spot in the squad could easily be filled by a youngster such as Rio Ngumoha or Trent Kone-Doherty.
But if Chiesa wants to stay – and we don’t really see why he wouldn’t – then there’s no way Liverpool should actively be trying to send him away.
If Chiesa can get fit enough to play regularly, even from the bench, then he can still be a useful option for Liverpool.
