Liverpool are expected to go into the summer transfer window as Premier League champions, even after Sunday’s loss against Fulham.
Results in the league this weekend mean that the Reds sit just 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League standings, with Liverpool suffering their first league loss since September after a 3-2 defeat away in west London.
With Ibrahima Konate criticised for his performance for Liverpool on the day, a new defender would be welcome this summer for the Anfield side, with a centre-back on the list of five signings the Reds want to make in the transfer window.
Yet one player who has been outlined as a target could now be heading elsewhere with Bayern Munich making a major transfer surge.

According to TeamTalk, the Bundesliga giants have made a ‘dramatic turn’ in their interest to sign AFC Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, with Bayern now ready to make a big push to sign the Spanish international.
As per the report, Bayern want to beat the likes of Liverpool to the Premier League defender, who this season has been one of the breakout stars in England with Huijsen establishing himself as one of the most exciting centre-backs talents in all of Europe.

Huijsen has been heavily linked with Liverpool leading into the summer with the Bournemouth star believed to have a release clause worth £50m that becomes active in the transfer window, a fee that many top clubs will be willing to pay for the 19-year-old.
However, with Bayern making a big push to sign Huijsen, Liverpool could soon be faced with a race against time to land the Amsterdam-born defender, who could be tempted to join Vincent Kompany’s side if the German titans make a first approach for the Bournemouth man.
Huijsen’s performances for Bournemouth this season have been nothing short of incredible, with the former Juventus defender taking to life in the Premier League like a duck to water and causing plenty of hype in the process.
Yet for Liverpool, losing out on Huijsen to Bayern of all clubs will feel like a massive blow, with the Reds currently in the best position to land the defender given their need for a new central defender and the appeal playing at Anfield one has for a current Premier League player.
As a result, Liverpool need to make the first move for the Spanish international before Bayern make their own attempt to land the defender, with the battle to sign the Bournemouth star beginning to ramp up with Real Madrid also in the mix for Hujisen.
