It feels like we might be getting into a bit of a theme when it comes to Liverpool’s January transfer targets as continued speculation over Mohamed Salah’s future continues.
Salah is yet to agree a new deal with the Reds and there is an expectation among some that this might well be his final year in England.
Indeed, interest from Saudi Arabia in Salah is once again rife and with huge amounts of money on offer in the Middle East, Salah may well cash in.
Of course, that will leave Liverpool looking for new faces.
Liverpool like Christian Pulisic and the Reds have also made a bid for Rayan Cherki.
However, there are more names on the list, including Real Sociedad flyer, Takefusa Kubo.

According to a report from TeamTalk, Japanese star Kubo is very much on the radar of Liverpool when it comes to replacing Salah.
Kubo has been looked at before by the Reds but a bid was never forthcoming.
However, with Salah’s deal ticking down, it’s reported that Kubo is very much being considered again by the Reds.

The Sociedad ace is on a list that contains Leroy Sane and Karim Adeyemi, with Liverpool looking to get someone who can directly slot in for Salah if he goes.
Kubo, 23, scored seven goals last season and has already hit three this season as he looks to get to double figures.
We all know good Jude Bellingham has been for Real Madrid and while the new season hasn’t gone as well as last year, 2024 as a whole was impressive for the Englishman.
But Kubo has also been mentioned in the same breath as Bellingham.
“As good as Jude Bellingham has been this year, I think Take Kubo has been on (his) level in every game he’s played,” podcaster Terry Gibson said on the El Tel and Jon’s La Liga weekly show.
Kubo has been described as a ‘mesmerising‘ talent on his day and at around £55m, he might well be a bargain buy in the long-term for the Reds.
