Liverpool are putting preparations in place for the summer transfer window, with the Reds set to conduct a lot of business.
Despite running away with the Premier League title, recent weeks have shown just how much work needs to be done in Arne Slot’s side if the Anfield giants are to compete on all fronts next season, with Jamie Carragher suggesting that Liverpool need two more forwards to help compliment Mohamed Salah.
One big issue the Reds will face this summer is signing a new starting right-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to join Real Madrid with the England international’s contract expiring at the end of this season.
Yet it appears that Liverpool have now taken a big step in potentially signing a replacement for the 26-year-old fullback heading into the summer transfer window.

According to UOL, Liverpool have made contact with Flamengo to sign 21-year-old right-back Wesley Franca, who will spend this international break with the senior Brazil national team after a string of impressive performances this year.
Liverpool have been linked with Wesley earlier in the year with the Flamengo defender expected to make the move to Europe this summer after establishing himself as one of the most exciting prospects in Brazil in the last 12 months.
WIth FC Barcelona also interested in signing Wesley, though, Liverpool already face an uphill battle to bring the Brazilian talent to Anfield, even if they have the financial power to make a deal possible with Flamengo.

Yet should Liverpool fail to sign Wesley, there are other options out there in the transfer market that the Reds could turn to in their mission to replace Alexander-Arnold, with a new direction likely to be taken in who plays and operates at right-back.
Replacing Alexander-Arnold could be the hardest task Liverpool undertake this summer, with the England international arguably the best in the world in the right-back position and a player who is as unique as they come in the game.
Yet the Reds have been rumoured with some interesting defensive options, with Liverpool keeping tabs on Feyenoord’s Givairo Read, who featured under Slot at Feyenoord last year with the teenager since blossoming into a real talent.
With Liverpool also eyeing Chelsea’s Malo Gusto, the right-back saga will be an interesting one to keep an eye on for supporters, with replacing Alexander-Arnold a mission that could be a difficult one for the Reds to undertake.
