Liverpool’s forward line looks in need of a revamp during the summer transfer window.
The Reds have more firepower than most teams across Europe, but over the course of the campaign it has become clear that things can be upgraded even further.
Pace is one of the primary issues, with the recent two-legged Champions League tie with PSG highlighting the need for more speed in the Liverpool attack.
On the flipside, PSG were rampant going forward.

Their talent is a reminder that it’s always wise to keep an eye on hot prospects from across the rest of the globe as well.
And according to TeamTALK, that’s exactly what the Reds are doing.
They claim that Liverpool are ‘keeping tabs’ on 15-year-old Ecuadorian prodigy Johan Martinez.
Martinez, who plays for renowned Ecuadorian talent-developers Independiente del Valle is yet to play for the first-team but is said to have wowed scouts with his ‘incredible talent and potential’ regardless.

The youngster is claimed to be a ‘dynamic player who is capable of using both feet’ and has drawn comparisons to Dembele with his style of play.
Liverpool won’t be able to sign Martinez until he turns 18, but with the young man reportedly destined for big things, the Reds have joined Man City, Brighton and clubs from Germany and Italy in keeping an eye on his development.
Liverpool have an excellent record in the transfer market over recent years.
One area where they really could have been more active, though, is when it comes to procuring top young players from South America.
While the likes of Chelsea and other big clubs in Europe have identified youngsters and moved quickly to bring them in, Liverpool have been sluggish and reluctant to do the same.
In the case of someone like Martinez, it has not been Liverpool’s style to get involved at all.
Whether they change that approach may depend on the success of players like Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez, who are set to join Chelsea this year having been signed as 16-year-olds.
If Liverpool do go down that route, Martinez may be one to watch.
