Liverpool and Manchester City have had one of the best rivalries in the Premier League era in recent years, with their battles this year set to expand into the summer.
The English giants are preparing for two massive transfer markets, with Liverpool planning to make five signings whilst City look to overhaul their squad from the top-down after one of their worst seasons in recent memory.
With City also eyeing the likes of Luis Diaz, there’s a chance that the two Premier League sides will cross paths with one another in the market, with Liverpool and the Manchester club ready to go big during the off-season.
And Liverpool are now eyeing a star from the Bundesliga despite City taking a big lead in the race.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have made an advance with Hugo Larsson’s entourage to discuss a potential deal this summer, though City have already made contact with the Eintracht Frankfurt midfield himself.
As per the report, the Bundesliga side could demand as much as £59m for the Swedish international, with Larsson catching the attention of Liverpool this season after a spring of impressive performances from midfield.
However, City making a move first for Larsson could create a frustrating roadblock for Liverpool, who are in the market for a midfielder with Harvey Elliott potentially set to leave Anfield in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Larsson has established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe this season, and Liverpool missing out on the Scandinavian talent to a rival like City will be viewed by many as a major blow to fans and Arne Slot.
Hailed by manager Dino Toppmoller as an ‘outstanding’ prospect, Larsson has been one of the breakout names in the Bundesliga this season, with interest from Liverpool and City more than warranted for the 20-year-old.
And heading into this summer, Liverpool can’t allow a talent like Larsson to slip them by, especially with Premier League rivals like City and also Arsenal interested in signing Swedish international this summer.
With a big squad overhaul in the works, Liverpool losing out on Larsson will be a huge blow in their long-term planning for the squad, and the midfielder could be what City need to get back to their best next season.
