The number six position has been an area of concern for Arne Slot since his arrival as Liverpool tried to bring Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi to Anfield last summer, only for the Spanish star to remain in La Liga for one another season.
The Premier League leaders may have found one in Italy, who can be brought to Anfield for a very attractive price.

Liverpool have been linked to Morten Frendrup in the past and it appears that the midfielder remains on the Premier League leaders’ radar.
According to CaughtOffside, the Reds are one of several clubs showing an interest in the 23-year-old, who could be brought to Anfield for around £25m (€30m).

Frendrup is a crucial player for the Serie A club having started in all 28 league games he has been available for this season, missing just one due to a calf issue.
If the race for the Denmark international gets tight, Liverpool may have an advantage as the 23-year-old has admitted in the past that Reds legend Steven Gerrard is one of his idols.
Gerrard is a football icon and the former Liverpool captain has inspired millions of players across the world.
Frendrup is no different and the Danish star has admitted to basing his game around the Reds legend in a recent interview with Cronache di Spogliatoio (via GFNI).
When asked about who his references are for playing in his midfield position, the Genoa star said: “When I was little I watched a lot of Premier League; (Steven) Gerrard, (Ngolo) Kanté to name some more current ones, but also (Milan) Badelj I watch a lot how he plays.
I tried to steal something from him.”
If Liverpool recruited a player half as good as Gerrard was Slot would be getting a great player added to his squad, however, should Frendrup decide to make the move to Anfield, he will likely be used to provide support for Gravenberch as the rest of the Premier League leaders’ midfield.
