Report: Liverpool now amongst suitors interested in signing £37m attacker dubbed ‘one of the best in Europe’

Liverpool have arguably the best attacker in world football in Mohamed Salah, who this season has been making a mockery of all who come before him.

The Egyptian international has already hit the 30-goal mark in all competitions with the 32-year-old also registering an incredible 22 assists, with Theo Walcott backing Salah to win the Ballon d’Or later this year.

With Salah’s form inspiring Liverpool to a 13-point lead in the Premier League, the thought of adding even more firepower to the attacking ranks seems sensationalist for the Reds, even with rumours that FC Barcelona want to sign Luis Diaz and that Darwin Nunez could leave Anfield.

Yet Liverpool could be about do just that if a new transfer rumour is to be believed heading into the summer.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of many top teams interested in signing Kingsley Coman, who is expected to leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season with the French international keen to remain in Europe.

Bayern have made Coman available at a cut-price fee worth €45m (£37m), with the UEFA Champions League winner and FIFA World Cup runner-up a player who will catch the eye of a lot of clubs given his incredible resume over the years.

With six goals and four assists in all competitions this season, though, the 28-year-old’s form coupled with his wages could make Coman an awkward signing for Liverpool if the Reds were to move for the former Juventus superstar.

Indeed, whilst Liverpool might be in the market for an attacker in the summer, Coman might be a player who is better off being avoided by the Reds, especially with the Anfield side looking to add to the central midfield and defence in the off-season.

With some truly incredible attacking options in Salah, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo, adding another player to the forward ranks who can offer something new and dangerous would be quite the accomplishment for the Reds in the summer.

Yet as we slowly approach the transfer window, there have been some exciting names, with Liverpool this week linked with Rafael Leao as AC Milan look to be dropping their guard in regards to selling the Portuguese international.

With Jamie Gittens also on Liverpool’s radar, it’s clear that Arne Slot has a profile in mind when it comes to signing a potential attacker, and based on Coman’s numbers this season, the Bayern start simply doesn’t fit the bill for what the Reds are seeking this summer.
