Liverpool are ready to spend big this summer, with the Reds ready to cast their net far and wide for the right signings.
The upcoming transfer window is set to be a transformative one for Arne Slot’s side, with Jamie Carragher predicting Liverpool to make as many as six signings in the off-season with the Anfield giants in need of an overhaul.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold already close to joining Real Madrid, a huge project is on the cards for Liverpool this summer, with virtually every area of the squad in need of either players being shipped off or signings being brought in, or both.
And Liverpool are now keeping an eye on one of the most exciting talents in South American football.

According to El Crack Deportivo, Liverpool have stepped up their interest in signing Franco Mastantuono, with the 17-year-old right-sided attacker having a release clause worth €25m (£20m) after a breakout 12 months with Argentine giants River Plate.
A record-breaker as the youngest scorer in the club’s history, Mastantuono is the latest academy graduate from River Plate to attract big interest from the Premier League, with Manchester City already securing the services of Claudio Echeverri.
Now, Mastantuono is the new hottest prospect in town, with Transfermarkt comparing the teenager’s style of play to Phil Foden due to his ability to play through the lines and to use his small stature to his advantage in dangerous areas.

And for Liverpool, Mastantuono represents a unique opportunity in the transfer market to bring in one of the most exciting talents in the world, especially with River Plate’s demands currently only at £20m this summer.
South American talents are being picked up by top European clubs much earlier than ever before, with Real Madrid signing Endrick 18 months before the Brazilian was legally allowed to move to Spain as Chelsea landed Kendry Paez as a 15-year-old in 2023, with the Ecuadorian finally set to make the switch to England this summer.
The trend is one that’s growing, yet it’s one that Liverpool have opted to stay away from, but that could all change with Mastantuono and these latest reports, with the Argentine showing all the signs of becoming a superstar.
Indeed, Liverpool will have to act fast if they’re to secure Mastantuono’s signature, but a deal to bring the forward to Merseyside could help the Reds raise their transfer game and ensure they’re now competing with the likes of Madrid for the most exciting talents in South America.
