Liverpool are set for one of their biggest transfer windows in some time, with a number of deals expected to be made.
Jamie Carragher has already urged Liverpool to sign two forwards whilst the Reds are expected to move for a centre-back in the summer, with Virgil van Dijk’s future up in the air as Arne Slot prepares to lose a number of key players.
Another key area that is expected to see some investment is the left-back position, with Milos Kerkez on Liverpool’s radar as a potential long-term replacement for the likes of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.
Yet another left-back target appears to have caught Liverpool’s eye, with the player in question also potentially available for a bargain price.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have been keeping ‘a special eye’ on CF Villarreal left-back Sergi Cardona, who this season has attracted interest from the Reds as well as Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid.
Noted by Scouting Stats as a ‘dynamic’ fullback, Cardona has been a solid performer in La Liga this season, with Villarreal keen to hand the 25-year-old defender a new contract based on his performances this year.
However, with interest building in Cardona, there’s a chance that the Villarreal left-back could demand a move this summer, a decision which could allow Liverpool to sign the fullback for as little as €20m (£17m).

Indeed, Liverpool’s interest in Cardona is new as the Reds look to expand their search for a new left-back beyond the traditional big names, and with the Anfield side giving the Villarreal star special treatment, there seems to be a real chance that a move could be possible in the summer.
With Liverpool eyeing signings in five positions this summer, the Reds will need to be smart in managing their finances and ensuring they can get the best deals possible in the window without overspending on certain players.
And a £17m deal for a player like Cardona is exactly the sort of signing Liverpool should be making the help flesh out the squad, with the La Liga fullback ready for a move to the Premier League after a breakout season in Spain.
Whilst interest from Atletico and Villa will make the race for Cardona’s signature a tight one, Liverpool have the reputation and the pull to bring the Spanish defender to Anfield, where the fullback could be an ideal rotation option for Slot.
