Liverpool are on course to win the Premier League with the Carabao Cup final also coming up this weekend for the Reds.
Having been knocked out of the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, there’s a real chance that Arne Slot’s first season with Liverpool could be wrapped up by next month should the Merseyside giants maintain their 15-point lead over Arsenal.
As a result, transfer rumours are already starting to appear for the Reds, with Liverpool interested in strengthening five positions in the summer as Slot aims to improve his squad so that the Anfield side can truly compete on all fronts.
Yet as well as signings, Liverpool are aiming to clear out as much deadwood as possible, with one player now seemingly likely to move on at the end of this season.

According to CalcioMercato, Federico Chiesa is ‘increasingly likely’ to leave Liverpool just after one season with the Reds, with top clubs in Italy already interested in bringing the winger back to Serie A in the summer.
Chiesa was signed for just £12m in the off-season with the former Juventus star struggling with fitness, with the forward only making three starts for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring once and assisting twice in ten appearances.

With Liverpool also looking to sell Darwin Nunez, the forward ranks look set to be completely gutted at Anfield this summer, with Mohamed Salah believed to be on FC Barcelona’s radar ahead of the attacker’s contract coming to and end.
And with Chiesa now linked with a return to Italy, a big rebuilding project could be on Liverpool’s hands if the forward does indeed head back to Serie A, a transfer decision that will disappoint a lot of supporters given the hype surrounding the winger in the summer.
Chiesa’s first season with Liverpool has been underwhelming, with the winger arriving on Merseyside in the summer lacking match fitness and sharpness having fought multiple injury problems across the years with Juventus.
Yet even after just ten appearances this season, Liverpool will be making a huge mistake in selling the Italian international, who has shown bright sparks when given minutes this campaign under Slot.
With Liverpool in need of improving the entire squad, allowing Chiesa to leave only to spend limited resources on a replacement would be a huge mistake, especially with the forward likely to return to his best next season after a summer off and a pre-season to prepare.
