According to Mundo Deportivo, Luis Diaz ‘wants to take his career to the next level’ this summer by leaving Liverpool to join Barcelona, who are keen on signing the Colombian international despite their financial situation.
Fabrizio Romano has hinted that Diaz could depart Liverpool, with the Anfield side currently struggling to award the 28-year-old attacker a new contract, a tale that is starting to sound all too familiar for supporters this season.
And with Liverpool already showing interest in Leroy Sane as a replacement for Diaz, there’s a real chance that the attacker could depart Merseyside this summer, especially with Barcelona’s interest only growing stronger.
Indeed, Diaz’s desire to join Barcelona could help in some capacity in a transfer going through, but given the demands Liverpool are likely to make for the Colombian, the Catalan giants could struggle massively to make the deal possible given their damaging financial situation.

And at 28-years-old, Diaz still has a lot to give for Liverpool, with the attacker only getting better with every new season at Anfield and this term adapting well to Slot’s tactics, with the forward looking sharp nd dangerous.
As a result, Liverpool could be making a big mistake in allowing Diaz to leave, with contract talks now a priority if the Reds are to ensure that another key player doesn’t ending up departing for cheap in the next 18 months.
