The Egyptian superstar is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and the Premier League leaders are yet to agree a new deal with the winger.
However, whether it is this summer or in two years, Liverpool will need to find the winger’s successor and the Reds have been provided an update on two names on their list.

Liverpool have been linked to Rayan Cherki for some time as the Lyon star continues to impress in France with the Ligue 1 giants.
This had attracted the attention of several clubs across Europe as the French star is expected to leave Lyon this summer as the Ligue 1 outfit look to get themselves out of their difficult financial position by selling some of their top players.
According to TeamTalk’s Ben Jacobs, there is nothing advanced between Cherki and any club yet, but there is a concrete possibility that the 21-year-old could be available this summer for a bargain fee.
Clubs in England, Italy and Germany are looking very seriously at Cherki but at this stage, the report states that Serie A or Bundesliga is a more likely destination than the Premier League.
This may change if Liverpool decide to go hard for the French star as a bid larger than what Lyon are expecting, or a big contract offer to the player, could swing things in the Reds’ favour.
If not, the Merseyside club have options and Jacobs has provided the Premier League leaders with an update on another one of their targets.
Ever since the arrival of Kylian Mbappe last summer, Rodrygo has been linked with a Real Madrid exit as the La Liga champions try to bring more balance to their squad.
Liverpool are one club that have been linked to Rodrygo in recent months, as the Brazilian is an incredibly talented player and would be one of the ideal options to replace Salah at Anfield.

Heading into the summer transfer window, TeamTalk state that there are no advanced talks between Rodrygo and Liverpool, or indeed with the winger and any other club.
There is some Premier League interest in the 24-year-old, but it would take a huge transfer fee of over £83m to lure him away from the Bernabeu.
It is hard to see Rodrygo leaving Real Madrid any time soon as despite the arrival of Mbappe, Carlo Ancelotti continues to show faith in the Brazil international.
