Liverpool and Manchester City are both set for huge transfer windows this summer after two very different seasons.
The Reds are two wins away from the Premier League title after Arne Slot’s incredible first year in the Premier League, whilst Manchester City are not even guaranteed a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League after a season to forget.
With Pep Guardiola’s side expected to spend big and Jamie Carragher suggesting Liverpool need six new signings, though, both teams are likely to be huge players in the summer, where two sides could do battle in the transfer market.
Yet it already appears that City have given Liverpool a huge boost in the Reds’ bid to sign one top target in the off-season.

According to FootballTransfers, City are unwilling to engage in a bidding war with Liverpool for AFC Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, who is wanted by both teams this summer after a sensational year in the Premier League.
Troy Deeney lauded Kerkez as ‘exceptional’ with the Hungarian international one of the breakout stars in the English top-flight this season, with Liverpool making the left-back a top target to replace the likes of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

With Manchester United also out of the race to sign Kerkez, Liverpool could soon find themselves standing alone in their bid to land the former AZ Alkmaar defender, who could be the first signing of the summer for the Reds.
And with City now seemingly exiting the battle for Kerkez as well, Liverpool have a huge chance to land one of their main targets this summer at the earliest possible moment, with the 21-year-old fullback now nailed-on to move to Anfield.
Liverpool are set for their biggest summer in some years, with a number of signings and exits expected in the red half of Merseyside as Slot looks to overhaul his squad ahead of reclaiming the Premier League title.
And Kerkez needs to be signed up by Liverpool as soon as possible, with the Hungarian international a dream option for the Reds and a player who could become the new starting left-back on Anfield for many years to come.
With City now out of the race, as well, there is nobody standing in Liverpool’s way for Kerkez, who will be welcome by the English giants with open arms ahead of what could be an exciting deal for all parties involved.
