For all that things are going well on the pitch for Liverpool currently, trouble is starting to brew off it.
The Reds have been fantastic for the whole of the campaign up this point, winning 17 out of their first 19 matches.
However, while supporters are starting to dream of a Premier League or Champions League trophy lift, there is a nightmare beginning to unfold regarding Liverpool contracts.
The uncertain situations of Liverpool’s three star players have been well documented, with question marks remaining over whether any of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold or Mohamed Salah will still be at Anfield next season.
But as the Liverpool owners desperately try to resolve those three problems, they’ve also been attempting to tie up a new contract for Luis Diaz.
As Rousing The Kop reported this week, negotiations are ongoing with Diaz as well as Ibrahima Konate over a contract extension.

Diaz has stepped things up a gear for Liverpool this season.
After scoring 13 goals in the entirety of the last campaign, he already has nine this time around.
As well as an increase in output, though, the No.7 has simply looked more comfortable and back to his dangerous self.

Consequently, Liverpool supporters would love to see Diaz stay at the club long into the future.
According to Colombian outlet Antenna 2, though, there is now real doubt over whether that will happen.

They claim that Liverpool have indeed offered a new contract to Diaz.
If Liverpool and Diaz cannot come to an agreement, though, it’s claimed that the 27-year-old could be up for sale in the summer.
For a time over the summer there had looked to be a genuine chance that Liverpool could lose Diaz ahead of the new season.
Since then, the former Porto man had seemingly put those rumours to bed with some sizzling performances.
Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock called Diaz ‘sensational‘ after he hit a recent Champions League hat-tick against Bayer Leverkusen.

Nevertheless, we’d still argue that if there are issues tying him down, then Liverpool could still improve on Diaz.
RTK understands that Liverpool are aware Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could be available next summer and if that turns out to be the case, then the Georgian would be an exciting replacement.
It all depends on how things shake out and negotiations are seemingly still underway.
But if there is trouble brewing in the Diaz camp, then Liverpool should perhaps look to cut their losses and move on.
