Liverpool look all set to sign a new left-back during the summer as Arne Slot attempts to bolster his starting XI.
The left side of the Reds defence has been under scrutiny all year, with Andy Robertson struggling to hit his previously high levels.
Robertson is not finished yet, with a good showing during Tuesday’s Champions League clash with PSG demonstrating that he still has plenty to offer.
Nevertheless, Kostas Tsimikas looks likely to leave and a new arrival is set to arrive, pushing Robertson for a starting berth.
Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is the early favourite to join.
But Liverpool are rumoured to be assessing plenty of different players before making a firm decision.
And as they scour the world for the right successor to Robertson’s crown, Liverpool have been suggested to take a look at some unexpected options.

Kerkez has had a great season with Bournemouth and it’s understandable why the Hungarian would be many supporters’ first choice to replace Robertson.
Indeed, The Daily Mail report that ‘all the signs’ are pointing towards Kerkez being the ‘leading candidate’ to be signed this summer.

The 21-year-old is reportedly set to meet up with his inner circle during next week’s international break to discuss what comes next for him.
In the meantime, though, Liverpool are certainly not counting their chickens.
The Reds are said to be watching Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato as an alternative, while Villarreal full-back Sergi Cardona is claimed to have been monitored over the past 18 months.

Perhaps more interestingly, The Mail call on data from ‘PLAIER’, a company which appears to use AI to ‘provide a scouting database to multiple elite clubs in Europe.’
The company are said to have run the numbers for the paper, and thrown out two ‘left-field’ options for Liverpool’s new left-back: Fiorentina’s Fabiano Parisi and Japanese youngster Junnosuke Suzuki.
Given Kerkez could reportedly cost up to £45m this summer, it is worth assessing other options for Liverpool at left-back.
Cardona, Parisi and Suzuki are all new names in this respect, with the former two playing in top five European leagues.
At 25 and 24 respectively, perhaps Cardona and Parisi could be ready for a step up.
But the most intriguing name here is easily Suzuki.
Playing for mid-table Japanese J League side Shonan Bellmare, he is not the most obvious transfer target for Liverpool.
And given that Fotmob claim Suzuki to be a right-footed centre-back, he would seem an unlikely solution to the Reds’ problems at left-back.
Already a starter for Shonan Bellmare aged just 21, Suzuki may be one to watch for the future.
But in terms of Liverpool’s left-back search of 2025, we think we can safely rule him out.
