According to the Athletic, Slot gave a number of Liverpool players extended time off after losing the Carabao Cup final, with the Dutch coach keen to have his squad as rejuvenated as possible ahead of the final stretch of Premier League games.
With Dominik Szoboszlai using the time off to marry his partner as Luis Diaz went on a small trip to Paris, Liverpool players given were productive with their extra days before returning to training this week ahead of facing Everton.
Indeed, there’s a real chance that Liverpool can secure the Premier League title this month, depending on what happens with Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures, with the Reds 12 points clear of the Gunners heading into the final nine matches of the season.

And with Slot giving his players on international duty more time off, this decision could go a long way in Liverpool wrapping up the title as quickly as possible, with the Reds all-but certain to secure the championship.
Although Arsenal have a mathematical chance of catching up with Liverpool in the Premier League, the title race already feels like a foregone conclusion, with the Reds expected to lift the title in the coming weeks.
And Slot awarding his players some much-needed time off could massively boost Liverpool in the Premier League run-in, where the title could be secured as soon as this month if certain results go the Reds’ way.
