Report: Will Ryan Gravenberch be fit enough to play for Liverpool against Everton

Liverpool are back in Premier League action next week with the Reds facing off against Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Having drawn 2-2 with the Toffees in a dramatic fixture earlier in the year, Liverpool will be seeking revenge against their cross-city rivals at Anfield, where a win against Everton will put Arne Slot’s side one step closer to lifting the title.

Despite the lengthy pause in the season due to the international break and upcoming FA Cup weekend, the past few days have been uncomfortable for the Reds, with Ryan Gravenberch returning to Liverpool from the Netherlands squad after picking up a knock.

Yet causes for concern that the midfielder could miss the Merseyside derby seem to be overblown heading into next week’s tie with Everton.

According to the Daily Mail, Gravenberch is not in danger of missing out on the Merseyside derby, with the midfielder only returning to Liverpool from international duty as a precaution ahead of the final games of the Premier League campaign.

Gravenberch has been one of the revelations of the season under Arne Slot with the former Bayern Munich man forming a dream midfield partnership with Alexis Mac Allister, two players who have become undroppable under the new Liverpool manager.

Jamie Carragher has likened Gravenberch’s performances to Patrick Vieira with the 22-year-old Netherlands international finally finding his feet in the Premier League after a difficult first year with Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, Gravenberch has become irreplaceable for Liverpool’s style of play this season, and the midfielder being fit to face Everton will be huge for Slot, who could take a big leap to winning the Premier League next Wednesday with a result at Anfield.

Gravenberch might be good to face Everton next week, yet the Liverpool midfielder was not the only player to pick up a problem during the March international break for the Reds.

Alisson Becker returned to Liverpool early after picking a concussion whilst playing for Brazil, whilst Ibrahima Konate was also injured with France, though both players are expected to be fine to face Everton next week.

As a result, only Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are expected to miss the Merseyside derby for Liverpool, with the Reds going into the game looking for a big result after their Carabao Cup final loss to Newcastle United.
