All signs have pointed towards Liverpool doing some sort of business in the coming transfer window.

However, speaking to the BBC back in January, Arne Slot confirmed that the Anfield club is looking to strengthen for the summer:

However, one reported target in Joshua Kimmich does not look like he will be an incoming to strengthen the Liverpool squad this summer.

The player was linked to Liverpool by German publication BILD, but now seems set to stay at Bayern Munich.

That’s because Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has reported that the German international is in full verbal agreement with Bayern Munich to extend his contract that currently expires at the end of the season:

“Total verbal agreement between FC Bayern and Joshua #Kimmich on a new contract until 2029!”

“Green light from the entire Bayern board.

Contracts are set to be signed this week, with the announcement planned soon.

“Kimmich will extend his contract following today’s new discussions.”
