Liverpool are slowly having to start thinking about ways to replace a number of legends within their squad.
Over the past couple of years, the Reds have seen some modern day icons of the club depart.
But while the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson – and even Jurgen Klopp – have somewhat been replaced at Anfield, the next stage of that evolution could be trickier.
Liverpool are staring straight at a scenario where they need to figure out a succession plan for Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah all at once.
If that weren’t enough, though, it has also become apparant that Arne Slot could do with a new starting left-back within the Liverpool squad.
With Andy Robertson’s performances starting to drop and Kostas Tsimikas still not quite at the level required, Liverpool have seemingly identified Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as just the man for the job.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Kerkez over the past weeks.
Some outlets have even suggested that the Reds have already entered into talks with the Hungarian over a move.
And after getting wind of these rumours, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has moved to clear up where things currently stand between Liverpool and Kerkez.

“Liverpool director Richard Hughes was at Bournemouth and obviously knows the player so well and the excellent skills and qualities of the player.
So, they are monitoring Kerkez,” Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel, after also highlighting that Man United are doing the same.
“For Liverpool he is for sure a player they appreciate, for sure they like him.

“Before saying they are going for him we have to wait, but for sure they appreciate him.
“But, again, it doesn’t mean that they are going to bid for him any time soon because we know how Liverpool take their time before doing anything,” adds the journalist.
“So, at the moment we are at the scouting stage, let’s say it like this.
But for a player that Richard Hughes knows so well and he knows the potential of this boy who is really appreciated around Europe.”
In reality, there is no real reason for Liverpool to be pursuing an immediate deal for Kerkez.
As Romano alludes to, Hughes knows the goings on at Bournemouth incredibly well.
