Rio Ferdinand
Rio Ferdinand has called on Manchester United to sign Jeremie Frimpong this summer as the Bayer Leverkusen star continues to be linked with Liverpool.
It was reported last month that the Reds had opened initial negotiations with representatives of the 24-year-old.
However, the ECHO understands such claims were premature, and Liverpool are continuing to formulate their approach for the forthcoming summer transfer window.
The La Liga giants failed in a bid to sign the England international for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.

"I would sign another central midfielder this summer to play alongside Manuel Ugarte," he said.
