Rio Ngumoha netted his first goals for Liverpool Under-21s as the young Reds secured a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Friday night, ensuring their spot in the Premier League 2 Round of 16 play-offs.

Young was once again denied by Zych at the near post, but it was Ngumoha who put Liverpool in the lead with his first Under-21s league goal of the season.

Set up down the left by Young, the teenager cut inside before beating Zych with a well-placed curled strike, giving the Reds the lead going into half-time.

Villa staged a comeback after half-time, equalising within 10 minutes of the second half as Charlie Pavey netted from close range following a shot by George Hemming.
