Unimpressed Robbie Fowler is adamant there is nothing boring about domination the competition as he came out swinging to back Celtic.
The Liverpool icon was smarting over a claim in the Daily Mail that a potential sixth Treble in nine seasons would be the most "tedious" of the lot.
The former England international echoed the sentiments of many observers as he hit back, stating: "Every club, everywhere would take a tedious Treble every season."
Fowler and Rodgers have retained a strong bond with the 50-year-old, a vocal backer of the Celtic boss' management style during his two stints in Glasgow, Leicester and Liverpool.
Rodgers – who remains undefeated in the Scottish Cup and boasts a stunning record of 14-0 at Hampden – directly addressed the great trophy Celtic era and what it means to him to keep the good times going.

He said:: “For me, it’s what’s best for Celtic and us winning the trophies.
It’s not so much the trophies for me on a personal level, it’s the hard work that goes into it.
“The values that are there and the idea of how we work, how we play and how we coach the players every day, so that’s what’s more important to me.
“But of course for the club, the history, the supporters, getting the trophy is key.
So for us, we’ve got two more to win and we’ll recover and get ready to finish off the league.
“I think it’s been such a long season with so many games.
I think we’ve had one or two performances within that, which is natural, when we weren’t quite at our best.
“But what I’ve had with two years of this team is just making sure that mentality, you’ve got to keep pushing.

“It’s the time of the season when the trophies are there.
Supporters want it, we want it.
It gives us that opportunity against Aberdeen.
“But now we go into a little mini-league where we want to be the best in that little league.
