Liverpool are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, with some key areas in need of being bolstered.
The Reds have been quiet over the past 18 months, bringing in only Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will join at the end of the current campaign.
Having had a full season to look at and assess the Liverpool squad, Arne Slot will know exactly what is needed to kick on in 2025/26.
One of the glaring positions in which Liverpool could do with an upgrade in is through the middle of their attack.
Darwin Nunez looks likely to leave after a poor season, while Diogo Jota’s fitness has been problematic once again.
For many supporters, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak would be the perfect remedy for Liverpool.
And after journalist David Ornstein confirmed Liverpool’s interest in Isak this week, fellow transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update.

Isak has been one of the Premier League’s most lethal striker’s over the past two seasons.
Having hit 19 goals in 24 league games in 2024/25, the Swede is being coveted by the division’s biggest sides.
He isn’t going to come cheap, unfortunately, with Ornstein claiming that a whopping figure of £150m is being circulated within the industry.

With Newcastle clearly unwilling to sell their star player, there is far from being any guarantee that Isak will go.
But taking to Threads on Friday night, Romano claimed that both Liverpool and Arsenal are expected to try and make it happen.

Asked by a member of the public whether Man United would be in the mix, Romano dismissed any chance of Isak ending up at Old Trafford, but did give hope to Liverpool and Arsenal.
“I don’t think they can afford him with Financial Fair Play,” he said on United.
“Arsenal and Liverpool will both try, but Newcastle will push to keep him.”
As well as answering questions on Isak, Romano also provided an update on Liverpool’s pursuit of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
“Liverpool are in contact for Kerkez.
He’s high on their list,” wrote the journalist.
With Bournemouth reportedly putting a £50m price-tag on Kerkez, he and Isak together could cost the Reds something close to £200m.
Some of that could of course be offset by sales, though, and Romano also reiterated that Nunez is expected to leave Liverpool this summer.
“I think Darwin will leave Liverpool.
