Ruben Amorim speaks after Man Utd's draw with Man City
Ruben Amorim insists there were positives for Manchester United to take from Sunday's drab derby stalemate.
While the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford was one of the dullest derbies in recent memory, Amorim claimed to have seen further progress from his side.
United were certainly better than soon-to-be-deposed champions Manchester City, despite failing to score for the second successive game.
Sunday's failure to score underlined United's need to sign a proven goalscorer this summer, but Amorim is convinced his team are finally heading in the right direction under him.
United may be 13th in the Premier League, having taken just 23 points from a possible 60 under Amorim, but the Portuguese coach said he has seen signs in the last two games that his players are creating more chances.

"Look at the positive things,” said Amorim.
We are still a team, sometimes, that is more dangerous in transitions and we have to spend more time near the final third to get more opportunities."
Addressing United's over-reliance on Fernandes, Amorim said: "That is clear, but you can look at the other teams, they have players that are essential.
“If you look at Liverpool, it's Mo Salah, the difference that he makes.
But everybody has to improve and Bruno has to step up a little bit more next year because he has a really big role."

Looking ahead to Thursday's Europa League quarter-final, first leg tie away to Lyon, Amorim acknowledged the importance of the encounter, with winning the tournament United's only route to European football next season.
"It's really important,” said Amorim.
“It's not the most important thing, because we have a lot of things to do, but you can see, in this season, the Europa League is really important.
