Liverpool are on the lookout for a new forward addition this summer as Arne Slot attempts to ratchet up his attack.
The Reds have been comfortably top scorers in the Premier League this season but have looked stale and one-paced at times going forward.
As a result, it seems fairly certain that Liverpool will look for something new during the transfer market.
Darwin Nunez is set to be sold, while question marks persist over the futures of Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and even Mohamed Salah.
As they go in search of the right player, Liverpool have been linked to all sorts of strikers of all different profiles.
But according to journalist David Lynch, Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is perhaps the one who stands out as being the most ideal fit for the Liverpool recruitment team.

For a lot of supporters, Alexander Isak would be the ideal signing for Liverpool this summer.
Lynch says he’s got a nagging feeling that this could mean Cunha comes into the picture.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
“I just would not be that shocked about Cunha,” Lynch tells Anfield Index.
He can [also] do that facilitator thing which Liverpool look like they’ve needed at times.
“The only question mark would be character and some of the kind of stories about him, the things he’s done this season, but outside of that he’s a guaranteed goal-scorer, can play in that attacking midfield role, can play either side a little bit as well.”

“He’s available for £62m,” the reporter adds.
Again, I’m speculating there, I know again he’s one who Liverpool have been attached to him a little bit, that’s been pushed a little bit but that’s not to say that they’re not interested.
The way the recruitment staff operate he would tick an awful lot of boxes.”
Part of the reason it’s interesting to hear Lynch put Cunha forward – unprompted – as a strong option for Liverpool, is because he was not anything like as optimistic on other potential targets.

The journalist suggested that the reported interest in Hugo Ekitike is perhaps being driven hard by the player’s camp, who are looking to create a bidding war for their client.
Elsewhere, Lynch says he’s ‘sceptical’ over links to Liam Delap, claiming the Reds may be looking more at a player who is already the finished article, or closer to it.
Finally, the reporter was also less than encouraging about interest in Brighton’s Joao Pedro, with the fee being seen as a major stumbling block there.
With Cunha the only one given any real thrift at all from Lynch, the Brazilian is certainly one to keep a close eye on.
