Liverpool return to Premier League action on Wednesday night as they host Newcastle United at Anfield.

The Reds will go into the game with an 11-point lead at the top of the table thanks to their victory over Manchester City at the weekend.

Arne Slot's side extended their lead over Arsenal at the top of the table thanks to the win at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.



The Gunners still have a game in hand over Liverpool, with the Reds now the overwhelming favourites to win the league title this season.

Liverpool will be hoping for a better result than the reverse fixture against Newcastle where they were held to a 3-3 draw at St James' Park back in December.

Slot has already provided an injury update on his squad, which will feature some absentees for the visit of the Magpies.

Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton have all been ruled out of the clash against Newcastle.

Bradley and Gomez are recovering from hamstring injuries, while Morton recently underwent surgery on a shoulder injury.

Alexis Mac Allister also emerged as an injury doubt for Liverpool after the midfielder posted a photo of a head injury he received during the win over Man City.

Jamaal Lascelles is a confirmed absentee, but the Magpies will have hope that Joelinton and Sven Botman could return to face Liverpool.

Joelinton has been recovering from a knee injury he suffered at the start of February but could feature against Liverpool.
