Liverpool can’t afford to give Arsenal any more hope in the Premier League title race on Sunday.

The Reds are playing after the Gunners once again this weekend and will be in search of a much better performance than they managed last week.

A win for Liverpool would put them within eight points of lifting the Premier League, with 16th-place West Ham the visitors at Anfield.

Having toiled to a 3-2 defeat at Fulham last Sunday, though, there may be some nerves within the stadium and even from the Liverpool squad.

As Arne Slot looks to banish any anxiety and get the Reds back on track, here’s the XI we think he’ll pick.

There was good news on Friday as Slot confirmed Alisson Becker is back available after missing two games with a concussion.

Liverpool certainly missed Alisson last weekend and it will be a relief to see the Brazilian finally back between the sticks.

As well as the goalie, Slot also reported that Conor Bradley is now fit and ready to start against West Ham.

Bradley excelled when brought on at Fulham and it will be a boost for Liverpool to have him for longer this time around.

Although he’d argue he had few options, Slot has been told he made a mistake by playing Curtis Jones at right-back last weekend.

MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES

Jones has been ‘excellent‘ at times this season but after struggling out of position at Craven Cottage, we think he’ll drop out here.

For the rest of the defence we suspect it’ll be as you were, with Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson all looking for improvement.

Although he struggled a fair bit at right-back last Sunday, Jones did put in a better performance when moved to his more natural midfield role.

As a result, Slot has a decision to make on whether he restores Jones further up the pitch or goes with his more regular trio.

And while some may think it’s harsh on the Liverpool academy graduate, we Curtis will be axed completely.

That will mean going with the midfield which has largely got Liverpool to this point of the season: Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Despite not playing particularly well last time out, Liverpool still managed to score two really well taken goals.

One of those was scored by Luis Diaz, who had a shout at being Liverpool’s man of the match on the day after coming on as a substitute.

Having done so well, it would be a surprise not to see the Colombian start this one.

There’s a bigger question surrounding who Slot goes with to lead the line, but having kept faith with Diogo Jota through some poor performances recently we think he’ll do the same again.

Finally, Mohamed Salah is set for a raucous reception at Anfield having finally signed his new contract on Friday.
