Liverpool took on Aston Villa away from home on Wednesday evening in the Premier League with the fixture having been brought forward due to their participation in the Carabao Cup final next week.
It was a golden chance for Arne Slot’s men to win and extend their advantage over Arsenal as league leaders, but the team was able to pick just one point at Villa Park.
.
The last couple of games have been far from ideal for Liverpool as they were perhaps lucky to pick up all three points at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers as well
At Villa Park, which is always a tough venue to visit, they came away with a point which could potentially drag Arsenal back into the title race subject to their results in the near future.
Nevertheless, it is good to see a manager not accept just one point
In spite of their advantage atop the standings, the Reds seem determined to end the title race as early as they possibly can, while not giving their rivals a sniff of potentially re-entering the picture too
