Having watched his beloved Citizens fail to lay a glove on the Reds, Micah Richards believes one Premier League manager, in particular, should take note of Slot’s tactics at the Etihad.

Richards backed Slot following Liverpool’s disappointing FA Cup exit against Plymouth, and it seems like the ex-Man City defender is a big fan of the Reds boss.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Richards sang the praises of the Dutchman – even claiming that Man United manager Ruben Amorim should learn from Slot’s adaptability.

This is what we talk about with Amorim at Man United, we are not talking about having to change your tactics completely, it’s just about adapting to the game you are playing and that’s what Slot is so good at doing.”

Richards’ claims that the Man United boss should take note of Slot’s achievements are particularly poignant as Liverpool could have actually had Amorim in their dugout instead of the Dutchman.

Following the announcement that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving the club in 2024, the Reds actually held talks with Amorim for him to become their new manager.
