Liverpool have been no strangers to pursuing a quadruple in recent seasons
Jurgen Klopp fell just short of the achievement during the 2021/22 campaign, while the wheels came off the Reds’ pursuit last season in a very short space of time.
Given the football landscape this season, it looked like Liverpool could maybe achieve it, however, recent results ended that dream, as well as their hope for a treble.
The Merseyside club look guaranteed to win the Premier League this season and ahead of the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, Jamie Carragher has shared the game he was ok with Liverpool losing this season.

Liverpool were shocked early last month as Championship strugglers Plymouth knocked the Premier League leaders out of the FA Cup.
Slot received both praise and criticism for the Liverpool team he fielded on the day as the Dutch coach rested players ahead of the Merseyside Derby.
That was a sacrifice Slot had to make and Carragher understands why the Reds boss did this as the Sky Sports pundit believes the FA Cup has an impact on the pursuit of the Premier League.
“It sounds terrible, but I am happy when we go out of the FA Cup,” Carragher said on The Redmen TV.
“When Man United beat Arsenal in the FA Cup this season, I felt like Liverpool had lost a game of football.
I’m not advocating losing games, because when I’m watching Liverpool against Plymouth, I’m still going ‘I want to score’, but in reality, when the games finished, I’m like, it is not the end of the world that.”
There is truth in Carragher’s claims and that is evident in the amount of times Man City won the FA Cup during their dominant reign in the Premier League.
The Manchester club have won six Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola but have only two FA Cups alongside that, while one of them came with the motivation of winning the treble attached to it.
In 2022, Liverpool went all the way in the FA Cup and it is uncertain how that impacted their Premier League campaign as the Reds fell just short again to Man City.
Although the run Jurgen Klopp’s team went on in the second half of that season suggests it had no effect.
Pursuing multiple trophies will always have some effect on the others as it requires a manager to make big decisions on which one to prioritise.
Carragher may be right about the FA Cup as the competition may have the biggest impact of all due to when the games are played in relation to the pursuit of a Premier League title.
