Liverpool will sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in the summer having agreed a deal to bring in the Georgian goalkeeper during Arne Slot and Richard Hughes' first transfer window at the helm.
But things have not necessarily gone smoothly for the 24-year-old since then.
Valencia is in the relegation zone in La Liga at the moment, level on points with Las Palmas who sit in 17th spot, and only bottom side Real Valladolid has conceded more goals.
That is not down to Mamardashvili exclusively but the Spanish media has not been impressed by the Premier League bound player, even though he remains one of the top up-and-coming shot-stoppers around.
The Spanish outlet Super Deporte has claimed Mamardashvili is "a shadow of the player from a year ago", while AS suggested that he should have done better with two of Osasuna’s goals this weekend in a 3-3 draw between the teams.
"Mamardashvili has not been a miracle-working goalkeeper for some time now," it reported.
"He has become mundane.
Giorgi Mamardashvili is enduring a pretty tough campaign ahead of his transfer to Liverpool.
