Stefan Bajcetic, Liverpool's promising youngster on loan at RB Salzburg, has shared an encouraging update as he further progresses away from Anfield.
Donning the Spain U21 shirt for the third time, he contributed to a 2-1 victory against Denmark in international duties - a morale booster following his injuries and development at Liverpool.
Lured away by Pep Lijnders, now piloting RB Salzburg's ship, Bajcetic has found himself adjusting to the ebbs and flows of Austrian soccer.
The road hasn't been smooth with Salzburg striving for form, stationed fourth league-wise, though they've secured their spot in the Champions League group stages.
After the game, Bajcetic took to Instagram to express his national pride, captioning: "Always with pride."
The skilled playmaker is at a crossroads with a tough choice to make come summer: should he return to Liverpool or stay put?
With the U21 European Championships on the horizon, he could either aid Spain's quest for glory or stick with Salzburg for their Club World Cup journey.
He told Marca: "Being on loan at Salzburg and Liverpool not going to the Club World Cup, I have the option to choose between returning to Liverpool or playing the Club World Cup with Salzburg.
"If I go back to Liverpool, I have the option to come to the U21 European Championship and that would be something I would really like to do.
I missed the Olympics and European Championship last year due to injury, I have never been to a tournament like this with the national team, I am really looking forward to it."
