Steven Gerrard has joined a host of celebrities in praising Liverpool fan Paddy Pimblett following his impressive win over Michael Chandler at UFC 314 on Saturday.
The 30-year-old Pimblett extended his UFC winning streak to seven with a third-round TKO victory over the American in the co-main event at Miami's Kaseya Center.
On Tuesday, Liverpool legend Gerrard, also a Huyton native, became the latest high-profile figure to commend Pimblett's performance, leaving a heart and a raising hand emoji under one of Pimblett's social media posts.
Pimblett has disclosed that he intends to spend the next few weeks with his family after his Saturday victory, before hopefully taking on one of the top-five contenders in the lightweight division in October.
After his Miami victory, the MMA star from Huyton challenged Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, Arman Tsarukyan, and later confessed he would be willing to fight either Ilia Topuria or Conor McGregor, provided the latter completes the final two fights on his UFC contract.
I want that world title," said Pimblett.
"I want Dustin, Justin, Charles or the little posh boy, Arman; any of them four."
