Steven Gerrard pulled on the iconic red shirt once again on Saturday when he captained his beloved Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Anfield.
The two sides met in the annual Liverpool legends match to raise money for the LFC Foundation.
Gerrard wore the captain's armband and pulled the strings throughout as Peter Crouch scored twice to secure the victory.
The 44-year-old, who left his boyhood club in 2015 after 710 appearances and 185 goals, was the clear fan favourite and his every touch was cheered by the Anfield crowd on the day.

And that love is clearly reciprocated from the Huyton-born midfielder, who captained Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2005.
Posting on Instagram after the match, Gerrard shared photos from many involved in the day before his own post showed him kissing the Liverpool crest with the iconic caption 'one kiss is all it takes'.
Dua Lipa's smash hit 'One Kiss' became a favourite among Liverpool supporters in 2018 during the club's journey to the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kyiv, with the singer eventually becoming an adopted Reds fan in return.
Speaking after the game, Gerrard paid tribute to the fans who packed out Anfield to see the legends.
“I think all eyes are on the run-in, we've got a massive game coming up against Everton,” he toldclub media.
“But during the international break when you get the invite to come and play in front of a full house, it's impossible to turn it down.
“The priority is always the foundation, raising large sums of money to support the area, to support the ex-players in need.
But it can't be done without the supporters.
Crouchy is the hero today but the main heroes are the supporters – always.”
